'Killing Floor' Celebrates 15th Anniversary With Final Free Weekend, 'Killing Floor 2' Sale And 'Killing Floor 3' Dev Diary - Trailer

Killing Floor III invites players to Join the fight against hordes of Bioengineered monstrosities.

Since the release of the original Killing Floor in 2009, and the sequel Killing Floor 2 in 2016, over 28 million players around the globe have joined the battle for survival against hordes of horrific Zeds across PC and consoles. Over that time, Tripwire has engaged and grown the massive Killing Floor community through the steady release of free and premium post-launch content, with industry-leading games-as-a-service (GaaS) support.

Now, harnessing the power of Unreal Engine 5, Tripwire will build upon the legacy of the series, realizing its gruesome graphical vision and embracing its dark dystopian tone to deliver the next terrifying evolution in action/horror with Killing Floor 3.

Killing Floor 3 is the next installment in the legendary co-op action/horror FPS series. The year is 2091, 70 years after the events in Killing Floor 2, and megacorp Horzine has produced the ultimate army: an obedient horde of bio-engineered monstrosities called Zeds. Now, the only thing standing between these infernal creations and the future of humanity is the rebel rogue group known as Nightfall. This intense first-person shooter puts players in the role of a Nightfall specialist, joining forces with up to five teammates as they battle through a war-ravaged, dystopian future, surviving unrelenting waves of Zeds, unlocking new skills, and building the ultimate arsenal.

Developer and publisher Tripwire Interactive is celebrating the 15th anniversary for their flagship franchise Killing Floor, first released as a stand-alone game on May 14, 2009 for Windows PC.

Originally conceived of by a team of modders, the Killing Floor franchise has horrified and entertained more than 30+ million players world-wide, delivering over a decade and a half of guns, gore, and co-op mayhem to gamers on PC and consoles and will continue that tradition with Killing Floor 3.

To commemorate the occasion Tripwire Interactive is peeling back the curtain and letting the insides show with the release of the first in a series of Killing Floor 3 Developer Diary videos.

The first video drills into the bloody history and legacy of the franchise, and how the studio is returning to its horror roots with the upcoming sequel.

As part of the 15 year franchise anniversary celebrations, Killing Floor 2 is currently free-to-play from May 16-20 on Steam PC, PS4 (playable on PS5), and the Xbox One family of devices (playable on Xbox Series X|S), and is on sale on all storefronts including the Epic Games Store.

Fans can check the official Killing Floor social channels for specifics on these special anniversary, limited time discounts which are the deepest in Killing Floor 2 history - including 95% off the base game!

All progress made and rewards earned during this free weekend are carried over to full accounts following purchase, including Perk levels and weapon unlocks.
