by Rainier on June 2, 2003 @ 9:23 a.m. PDT

Sony Pictures Digital Networks announced today that Charlie's Angels: Angel X is now available. The network-delivered game can be accessed via the film's official Website, The Station, and a series of premiere distribution partners. Read more for details & new screens ...

In Charlie's Angels: Angel X, inspired by the motion picture "Charlie's Angels(TM): Full Throttle," which is set for release in theaters nationwide on June 27, 2003, gamers are charged with the mission of catching the Thin Man before his army of assassins destroys his secret lair. Utilizing martial arts skills that only an "Angel" could master, players must pack some serious power as they encounter murderous thugs, junkyard dogs, shot-gun toting security guards and a plethora of other foes as they progress through various levels. Players who complete the game will become full-fledged "Angels" and prove to Charlie, yet again, that there is no mission too difficult to accomplish.

"With this network strategy, we're taking the next step in the commercial delivery of games over the Internet," said Tim Chambers, senior vice president of Sony Pictures Digital Network's Advanced Platforms Group. "Through these games, we are looking to deepen the engagement and experience for our users while extending the studio's brands both on and offline."

Charlie's Angels: Angel X, developed by 7 Studios, utilizes a game engine that was originally designed for console development, but has since been leveraged specifically for network-delivered game play. The game offers players rich environments with detailed textures and special effects as well as compelling audio and music soundtrack. Trymedia Systems is providing technology and services that will allow Charlie's Angels: Angel X to be made available exclusively through online digital distribution.

About "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle"

There are three words that never fail to strike terror into the hearts of criminals: "Good morning, Angels." Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu reunite in "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle," a sequel to the blockbuster action-adventure-comedy hit, directed by McG, and inspired by the phenomenally popular television series. The film is produced by Leonard Goldberg, Drew Barrymore and Nancy Juvonen and executive produced by Jenno Topping and Patrick Crowley.

As America's greatest secret weapon, the Angels are in pursuit of two missing titanium bands, containing highly classified encrypted information revealing the identities of every person in the federal Witness Protection Program. When witnesses start to turn up dead, the Angels use their expertise as masters of disguise, espionage and martial arts, to stop the assassinations by any means necessary.

"Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" will be released nationwide in theaters on June 27, 2003
