'Grand Prix Simulator' Announced - Screens

by Rainier on July 7, 2003 @ 8:38 a.m. PDT

Grand Prix Simulator offers a complete Formula 1 championship with the added bonus of an easy-to-use but sophisticated editing suite allowing players to create their own cars and tracks.

Drawing on the commercial experience of Alassoft, a team specialising in industrial development of computer simulations of real mechanics models applied to races and cars, the game will reproduce the best car physics to date.

To ensure accuracy, Alassoft has hired a professional test driver to check the physics are as close to "real life" as possible.

Grand Prix Simulator will offer race fans the most realistic tuning simulator and most powerful construction kit: choose a track (or create one of your own), test your car then tune it, all changes made can be tested immediately using real time telemetry.

Drive against computer opponents or take pole position on the net, the Online Multiplayer option allows players to challenge up to x other potential champions.

Lago will also launch a website for the Grand Prix Simulator community, with an area for racing fans to test their car's configuration, create their own tracks and exchange tracks and cars with other players.

"Lago is established in the flight simulation market, but recently we decided to use our know-how and our expertise to expand our range of products. We believe that Grand Prix Simulator will prove popular with both Formula 1 and racing game fans, " said Luisa Bixio, CEO of Lago.

Antonio Farina, CEO of Milestone, added, "We are excited to be joining forces with Lago and Alasoft, between us, our experience, commitment and passion for games will make ensure that Grand Prix Simulator lives up to our high expectations."

Grand Prix Simulator will be available for PC in Autumn 2003.
