Whiptail Interactive Showcases New Games @ ECTS

by Thomas on Aug. 18, 2003 @ 4:06 a.m. PDT

Whiptail showing off Gangland, multiplayer Postal 2, Postal Classic & Uncut, Blade and Sword and RC Cars... For its debut appearance at ECTS, game publisher Whiptail Interactive will be calling on the heavy mob for first looks at its new game Gangland, due to launch in November this year. Developed by Danish gaming experts MediaMobsters, Gangland combines the best elements of real-time strategy, role-play and simulation games to deliver a menacingly fresh PC gaming experience. Launched in time for Christmas, Gangland is set to be a massive hit...

Whiptail Interactive will also be giving attendees of the show first looks at the much anticipated new multiplayer version of POSTAL 2, where they can have their first stab (pardon the pun) at going totally postal with their mates but not getting arrested for drunk and disorderly behaviour. It'll also be the first public debut of POSTAL Classic & Uncut, which is being re-launched in a limited edition box set for the first time in six years since it was originally banned in ten countries. It took 21 years to re-release the ultra-violent cult film 'A Clockwork Orange'...to do the same thing with POSTAL, it took Whiptail and Running With Scissors less than six.

Other games on show include Blade and Sword, developed by Pixel Studio and expected to launch across Europe and North America in Q4 and RC Cars, developed by creat studio and due to launch in North America in Q3.

In honour of London Games Week, Chris Warrender, Don of Whiptail Interactive, will be breaking his exile to return to London for the duration of the show. "ECTS is the only place in Europe where the entire interactive entertainment industry comes together for three days to do business...but it's not all work, work, work. It's also the only place in Europe where for three days you can play some of the best games out there and go totally postal without hurting anyone but the keypad. Let the games begin!" proclaimed Warrender.

Joining the Whiptail mob will be Vince Desi, CEO of Running With Scissors, developers behind the notorious POSTAL and POSTAL 2, and Christian Majgaard, director of MediaMobsters, who are currently finalising Gangland.

All will be available for briefings and interviews along with live demos of the games at stand 1970.
