Monte Cristo Games has announced their E3 line-up. On display will be : "Fire Captain: Bay Area Inferno", "D-Day" and "Medieval Lords: Build, Defend, Expand". Read more if you want details & screens ...

The games will be showcased in Kentia Hall #6921, so come by and take a look or simply set at time with me.

  • "Fire Captain: Bay Area Inferno”
    • (Real-Time Strategy). Fire Captain ignites the 3D Real-Time Strategy genre with the fire and rescue scene. Players are challenged to keep their cool as they manage a squad of elite firefighters in a variety of fast-paced, unpredictable, and explosive emergency scenarios. Set in and around a metropolitan city along the U.S. west coast, fire chiefs command fire squads and vehicles to extinguish flames and save victims in five single player campaigns with increasingly complex missions based on real-life events and three multiplayer modes.
  • "D-Day”
    • (3D Real-Time Tactical). D-Day drops players into the role of World War II Allied forces in the final drive to liberate Europe. Throughout three campaigns and 12 missions in single player mode, D-Day challenge players to prepare troops for battle, create combat strategies, and execute one of the largest military invasions in wartime history. Multiplayer mode uses GameSpy's online Matchmaking network, allowing up to 8 players to play simultaneously on 12 different maps using 3 different modes.

  • “Medieval Lords: Build, Defend, Expand”
  • (City Builder). Medieval Lords: Build, Defend, Expand takes aspiring city governors to the middle ages, combining rich city-building challenges with evolving military forces to defend against relentless attacks from neighboring enemies. Through the course of ten scenarios, the player is challenged to manage finances, population, and food resources to succeed.

FIRE CAPTAIN: BAY AREA INFERNO

“We are working closely with American fire consultants to ensure the most accurate vehicles and fire units and the most realistic scenarios, fire fighting techniques and tools possible,” says Jérôme Gastaldi, managing director of Monte Cristo Games. “In addition, the fire pros are helping us recreate the most subtle characteristics of fire and smoke behaviour: the effects of flammable materials, ventilation, weather conditions, and structural engineering; conditions that cause explosive backdrafts and flashovers; and the way fire spreads across different structures and ground cover conditions.”

Set in and around a metropolitan city along the U.S. west coast, players face the challenging perils of human-caused and natural disasters. Tackle windswept brush fires that threaten a hillside of suburban homes and the forest just beyond. Use special extinguishing agents and techniques to battle chemical fires in manufacturing plants and at a fireworks factory; stay on track as a runaway train leaves a trail of emergencies; and save victims and battle blazes in downtown after the ‘Big One’ rattles the city.

In this captivating simulation, every moment counts: fire and smoke spread with incredible realism, combustible materials threaten to turn two-alarm fires into raging infernos, structures weaken as fire spreads and intensifies, and victims cling to life as injuries mount. In multiplayer mode players can combine firefighting efforts or compete against other firefighters for the title of top fire house.

Fire Captain: Bay Area Inferno builds on the critically acclaimed Emergency Fire Response. A doubled development budget and a new technological platform allow for an incomparably rich and realistic game experience. New features include additional types of vehicles and units, enhanced artificial intelligence, improved realism through enhanced fire and smoke physics, and more detailed animations. Larger maps with greater detail, richer missions with a captivating storyline and more ways to successfully battle situations that change with every play session will plunge players into the fascinating realities of the firefighter’s job.

D-DAY

“This licence gives us a first hand insight into these decisive WW2 battles”, says Jérôme Gastaldi, managing director of Monte Cristo Games. “Normandie Mémoire has identified the key battles of the Normandy campaign thus influencing the editorial choices of the game. They’ve also communicated valuable background information about this campaign: vehicles and soldiers are designed using real-life units’ characteristics, extensive descriptions of each vehicle’s history are included in the game... Normandie Mémoire has also helped us in establishing contacts with veterans, whose testimonies will plunge players back into this turning-point of history.”

Offering a wealth of single-player and multiplayer modes, D-Day challenge players to prepare troops for battle, create combat strategies, and execute one of the largest military invasions in wartime history. Players must successfully plan and execute the turning points in the liberation of Europe: the first hours of the beach landing at Omaha Beach, the paratrooper attack on Sainte Mère Eglise, the taking of the Cherbourg harbor, operation Cobra, the battle of the Falaise pocket, and the liberation of Normandy in August 1944. During the campaigns, players can call in the help of resistant forces to recon the landing areas, take advantage of the Allies' air power (bomber, glider, paratroopers), and stop the German forces' counter attacks. D-Day features over 60 historically accurate units, including rifleman, paratroopers, artillery, tanks, transports, and air support.

The title marks another step in Monte Cristo’s successful collaboration with developer Digital Reality, creators of Desert Rats vs. Afrika Korps, whose cutting edge 3D technology provides the game with advanced damage and destruction models, a realistic physics animation system, real-time shadows, stunning realistic landscapes and much more. Like its predecessor, D-Day combines real-time strategy and turn-based gameplay elements. For instance, to best establish your strategy, you can pause the game at any time and plan your operations, give out your orders, un-pause the game and see your orders carried out.

The multiplayer mode uses GameSpy's online Matchmaking network, allowing up to 8 players to play simultaneously on 12 different maps using 3 different modes. An editor allows players to create their own multiplayer maps.
