CDV announced today that its RTS sequel Blitzkrieg II is in development and is set to ship in autumn 2005. Blitzkrieg II, which will be on display at E3 2005, expands upon the original by offering amazing new additions and enhancements. Controllable naval units, more powerful air forces and real WWII commanders are just a few of the many updates that will be included in the game's exciting new arsenal of features.

In development by Nival Interactive, Blitzkrieg II takes everything gamers loved about the original game and kicks it up to a whole new level. Naval units can shatter coastal defenses while player-controlled bombers obliterate enemy encampments.

By destroying structures or blasting holes in the landscape, gamers can create instant cover for their units' protection from enemy attacks. Players take on the role of German, American and Russian WWII battlefield commanders modeled after their real-world counterparts as they command more than 200 types of historically accurate troops, including 60 varieties of ground infantry. Units such as the Brandenburg Commandos, the US 101st Airborne Division and the crew of the Paris Commune battleship all make an appearance in the game as available units. Historic conflicts are fought through 80 single-player and 15 multiplayer missions contained within three campaigns.

With its strong focus on real events in WWII, Blitzkrieg II will be the most historically accurate WWII RTS to date.
