'The Warriors' (PS2/Xbox) - 3 New Screens

by Rainier on May 30, 2005 @ 2:32 p.m. PDT

The Warriors is based on the 1979 Paramount Pictures cult classic movie. Developed by Rockstar Toronto, The Warriors expands the stylized cinematic journey of the film into a gritty interactive experience set in 1970s.

The game is set in a 1979 New York where you are free to take on the role of one of The Warriors (and they are all there!) and roam the streets. Along your travels you can initiate new members, steal car radios for cash, fight gangs and spray your Warriors tag over other gang's turf. The game starts out as a prequel to the movie (which is good because Cleon's not going to last long!) where you can do what you like GTA style. The game inevitably turns to the plot of the movie and the whole gang heads up to The Bronx for the big meeting. The story line then closely follows that of the film, bringing you into contact with gangs including the Orphans, the Turnbull A.C.'s and of course, the Baseball Furies!
