Layoffs Over At 'Myst' Developer Cyan Worlds

by Rainier on Sept. 3, 2005 @ 2:06 p.m. PDT

Cyan employee The Grey Dragon has a blog posting about the shocking news that long time Myst developer Cyan worls has laid off all of its employees, except for Rand Miller and Tony Fryman. Cyan's future had been a bit rocky ever since the failed attempt at creating Myst Online, which was then changed to the commercially unsuccessful Uru. Reason for sudden demise is the inability to secure further funding, thus people had to be let go (thanks Uru Obesssion). Myst V: End of Ages will be released later this month, so maybe if it becomes another bestseller, there might be some hope for Cyan after all.
