About Judy

As WP's managing editor, I edit review and preview articles, attempt to keep up with the frantic pace of Rainier's news posts, and keep our reviewers on deadline, which is akin to herding cats. When I have a moment to myself and don't have my nose in a book, I like to play action/RPG, adventure and platforming games.

'Tony Hawk's American Wasteland' (ALL) - Official Soundtrack

by Judy on Oct. 7, 2005 @ 10:01 a.m. PDT

No levels. No load times. Just never-ending action that doesn't stop until you leave the game! Tony Hawk's American Wasteland gives you - for the first time ever in a Hawk game - the freedom to skate, or bike, throughout a rich, expansive open environment. Once you arrive in Los Angeles, the vast city that gave birth to skate culture, the sky's the limit as you progress through the Wasteland story and choose missions that will have you immersed in the action without ever skating the same line twice

The game will debut Bloc Party's "Like Eating Glass (Tony Hawk Remix)," which was remixed exclusively for the title, and will also include songs from Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, The Bravery, Dead Kennedys, Circle Jerks, Black Flag, among others, as well as Thrice's new single "Image of the Invisible" from the band's upcoming album VHEISSU.

In addition, a stand-alone Tony Hawk's American Wasteland Soundtrack from Vagrant Records will be available in retail stores nationwide timed to the game's release on October 18. The CD was executive produced by Tony Hawk and features popular bands Taking Back Sunday, Senses Fail, Thrice, Alkaline Trio and others performing their favorite songs from the bands that influenced their careers and defined the punk music genre including the Misfits, Suicidal Tendencies, Descendents, Bad Brains and The Stooges.

"We've compiled the ultimate Tony Hawk music lineup," said Tim Riley, worldwide executive of music at Activision. "Whether skating their way through East L.A. or biking through Hollywood, the soundtrack will draw players into the game with its perfect accompaniment to the adrenaline pumping action."
