'America's Army' Gets New Missions - Screens

America's Army is a realistic computer game providing civilians with an inside perspective and a virtual role in today's premiere land force, the U.S. Army. America's Army players will experience soldiering in a state-of-the-art new manner. The America's Army game blends two vivid simulations: Soldiers, a role-playing portion in which players navigate life's challenges to achieve goals, and a first-person action game, called Operations.

Description: A known terrorist cell has set up a base of operations in a small border village. Intelligence reports confirm they are planning a synchronized bombing strike at several different civilian landmarks. Intelligence also reports that high level sensitive information (Precious Cargo) pertaining to this bombing strike is being kept at this location. A squad from the 172nd Sep. Infantry BDE must secure the precious cargo located in this village and then proceed safely to the extraction point.

ASSAULT - Briefing

  • Situation: A known terrorist cell has set up a base of operations in a small border village. Intelligence reports confirm they are planning a synchronized bombing strike at several different civilian landmarks. Intelligence also reports that high level sensitive information (PRECIOUS CARGO) pertaining to this bombing strike is being kept at this location.
  • Rules of Engagement: Use of force authorized against all positively identified enemy combatants. Be aware that there are other non-combatant personnel in the area. Minimize harm to local infrastructure.
  • Mission: Secure the precious cargo located in building DELTA 683 at vicinity grid 22635986 and then proceed to extraction point.
  • Enemy: Squad sized unit armed with assault rifles, light machine guns, and advanced marksmanship support.
  • Friendly: One squad from the 172nd Sep. Infantry BDE. with advanced marksmanship support.
  • Terrain: Two small desert villages made up of 1-2 story adobe structures. The villages are separated by dirt roads and are surrounded by open fields void of much cover.

DEFENSE - Briefing

  • Situation: Having just secured important high level information within a remote border village, a defense must be set up to secure the village and the sensitive information contained within it. Intelligence reports that a terrorist counter-attack is imminent.
  • Rules of Engagement: Use of force authorized against all positively identified enemy combatants. Be aware that there are other non-combatant personnel in the area. Minimize harm to local infrastructure.
  • Mission: Defend the intelligence information located in building DELTA 683 at vicinity grid 22635986 from falling into enemy hands.
  • Enemy: Squad sized unit armed with assault rifles, light machine guns, and advanced marksmanship support.
  • Friendly: One squad from the 172nd Sep. Infantry BDE. with advanced marksmanship support.
  • Terrain: Two small desert villages made up of 1-2 story adobe structures. The villages are separated by dirt roads and are surrounded by open fields void of much cover.

Description: Enemy forces have ambushed a small convoy. The convoy was transporting a friendly Resistance leader who was carrying highly sensitive information regarding enemy troop movement and location. Radio contact confirms that the Resistance leader is still alive and located in an abandoned building. A squad from the 75th Ranger Regiment must locate the surviving Resistance leader, and then escort this VIP safely to the extraction point.

ESCORT - Briefing

  • Situation: Enemy forces have ambushed a small convoy. The convoy was transporting a friendly Resistance leader who was carrying highly sensitive information regarding enemy troop movement and location. Radio contact confirms that Resistance leader is still alive and located in (UWBF) Tango, vicinity grid 30121375.
  • Rules of Engagement: Use of force authorized against all positively identified enemy combatants. Be aware that there are other non-combatant personnel in the area. Minimize harm to local infrastructure.
  • Mission: Locate the wounded Resistance leader at grid 30121375, then escort the Resistance leader safely to the extraction point. Bravo team will be inserted via convoy as close to the suspected ambush site as possible. The convoy will then move to a safe location and await delivery of the package.
  • Enemy: Squad sized unit armed with assault rifles, light machine guns, and advanced marksmanship support.
  • Friendly: One infantry squad of the 6/75 with advanced marksmanship support.
  • Terrain: Desert city streets consisting of building interiors, narrow streets, tight alleys, open courtyards and limited surrounding terrain.

AMBUSH - Briefing

  • Situation: An enemy convoy has been ambushed in (UWBF) Tango, vicinity grid 30121375. The remaining insurgent forces were spotted escaping into the city.
  • Rules of Engagement: Use of force authorized against all positively identified enemy combatants. Be aware that there are other non-combatant personnel in the area. Minimize harm to local infrastructure.
  • Mission: Eliminate the enemy threat before a rescue team can extract them out of the city.
  • Enemy: Squad sized unit armed with assault rifles, light machine guns, and advanced marksmanship support.
  • Friendly: One infantry squad of the 6/75 with advanced marksmanship support.
  • Terrain: Desert city streets consisting of building interiors, narrow streets, tight alleys, open courtyards and limited surrounding terrain.
