Blue Fang Games, known for the Zoo Tycoon titles, today announced it has extended their partnership with its publisher Microsoft Game Studios, extending its multiple development projects contract through 2009.

Blue Fang has worked with Microsoft Game Studios for six years; the first project being Zoo Tycoon, which was released in 2001. In that time they have developed and published a long list of game titles, which have sold over 5.5 million units to date. These titles include Zoo Tycoon: Dinosaur Digs (2002); Zoo Tycoon: Marine Mania (2002); Zoo Tycoon: Complete Collection (2003); Zoo Tycoon 2 (2004); Zoo Tycoon 2: Endangered Species (2005); and Zoo Tycoon 2: African Adventure (2006). Additional products to be released in 2006 include Zoo Tycoon 2: Marine Mania and Zoo Tycoon 2: Dino Danger Pack.

The partnership between Blue Fang and Microsoft Game Studios on the Zoo Tycoon franchise has a history of commercial and critical success. Zoo Tycoon; Zoo Tycoon: Complete Collection; and Zoo Tycoon 2 have each shipped over one million units, and have put this franchise on lists of top selling games multiple times. Zoo Tycoon: Complete Collection and Zoo Tycoon 2 both earned the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences Computer Family Game of the Year Interactive Achievement Award (2004, 2005 respectively). Other notable awards and recognitions for the franchise include The National Parenting Center Seal of Approval, Parents' Choice Foundation Gold Award and Bologna New Media Prize.

"Blue Fang is proud to continue our six-year partnership with Microsoft Game Studios, and we look forward to future successful development projects," said Hank Howie, President, Blue Fang Games. "From day one, Microsoft has been a terrific publishing partner and they continue to provide the highest quality development and marketing support for the Zoo Tycoon franchise."

"Blue Fang has always been an excellent development partner and we are thrilled to have them as a continued part of our family at Microsoft Game Studios," said Shane Kim, General Manager of Microsoft Game Studios.
