'Dawnspire: Prelude' - 6 New Screens

by Rainier on Aug. 11, 2006 @ 4:59 a.m. PDT

Dawnspire: Prelude is a team-based online action-rpg set in an original fantasy world. The game focuses on teamplay, tactics and player skill, all put into a frenzied and exciting mix to bring a new angle to the gaming experience you normally find in action-rpg's.

At launch the game will feature four distinctly different player classes, each with unique abilities. The Templar is an inspirational fighter, a formidable force on the battlefield who aids allies by leading by example. The Deep Elf Reaver is a blind warrior who uses telekinesis and her own skeleton as weapons. The Aramasi Shadowblade uses shadow techniques and strikes with swift blades and deadly poisons. The Orcish Witch manipulates the very forces of life and death and bends nature to her will. And more classes will be added to the game as it will continue to evolve after release!

Game modes and features

The game will have two different game modes on launch. Firstly the classical team deathmatch which lets people go wildly at it until one side is triumphant. This game mode is all about mayhem and raw combat. It also features the original game mode Relic Conquest which really brings something new to the PvP-table. The objective is to bring magical relics to your base, each of the relics having unique properties requiring different tactics to successfully claim them as yours. This game mode requires team play and tactical cunning to win.

The game features a proprietary graphics engine with all the expected features of a modern game such as normal and specular maps and real-time reflections. It has a soundtrack that features originally recorded orchestral and ethnic instruments. It also features full community support such as guilds functionality, friendslists, and global character rankings. But most importantly the game will also be continously supported by the developers and continue to evolve with more classes, maps and game modes being added all the time.

Dawnspire: Prelude will be released as a digital download in the third quarter of 2006, and thanks to the digital distribution at a lower price than traditional fully-priced retail games. The game will not have any monthly fees and will be free to try before you buy. The title has been under development for four years and has been entirely self-funded.
