Electronic Arts, the world’s leading interactive entertainment software company, today announced the landing of an elite squad of creative talent that will add an even deeper level of drama and immersion to upcoming games in the popular Medal of Honor franchise. Art Director Mark Lasoff, Lighting Supervisor Tom Allen and Technical Director Laurent Ancessi, will re-enforce the highly-decorated team at EA’s Los Angeles Studio (EALA).

“This provides us with a leadership core that is essential to building Medal of Honor into one of the all-time great franchises in the entertainment industry,” said EA Executive Vice President Bruce McMillan.

In 2002, Medal of Honor games are at the top of the PC and console charts. “The current games are outstanding, but our goal for the next title is to push the edge with an even deeper, more cinematic interactive experience,” added Executive Producer Rick Giolito.

The new team members include:

Ø Academy Award-winning Senior Digital Effects Supervisor Mark Lasoff has joined EALA as Art Director. His most recent movie efforts include Matrix Reloaded, Matrix Revolution, The Scorpion King and Titanic.
Ø Tom Allen has been named Lighting Supervisor for EALA. Allen’s 15 years of lighting experience on such notable projects as Superman and SHREK, make him an invaluable asset to the team.
Ø Video game industry veteran Laurent Ancessi has been named Technical Director and joins EA with more than 15 years of industry experience.

EALA continues to draw its marquee talent from the videogame and film industries. This latest addition of new talent will enhance EA’s existing homegrown development and production team credited with creating the Medal of Honor franchise and redefining the World War II genre of video games, as it ramps up its development for upcoming titles. Medal of Honor Frontline™ - the recently released third title in the series - is currently a best selling game on the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system.

Additional strategic hires to the EALA team of 90 people include engineers, animators, development directors and technical art leads. EALA recreated the category for World War II video games, with recent hit titles Medal of Honor Allied Assault™ for the PC and Medal of Honor Frontline for the PlayStation 2 console. EALA currently is developing an expansion pack for Medal of Honor Allied Assault and future Medal of Honor titles on multiple platforms for the award winning franchise.
