Kuju Entertainment today announced its first title for Sony's eagerly anticipated PSPTM portable platform. The impressive multiplayer arcade flight combat game, Project Interceptor (working title), is moving from prototyping into full production.

Whilst most of the main game features remain under wraps, Kuju confirms that 'Project Interceptor' will feature multiplayer dogfights using the PSP's networking capability.

The PSP is expected for launch in PAL regions in the early part of 2005 following its first scheduled major public appearance at the Tokyo Game Show in the autumn of 2004 The PSP marks Sony's entry into the lucrative portable gaming market.

However, as it often the case, Sony's offering is more than just a machine for playing games. Whilst this will be its main purpose, the PSP will also play movies, music and perform other, as yet unconfirmed functions.
