Unknown Fate is an enigmatic story-driven action adventure set in a surreal world full of mind-twisting puzzles and bizarre creatures.

Unknown Fate blends various genres in to a seamless experience of the unfamiliar and undiscovered.

Become Richard, who suddenly passes seamlessly from the real world into a surreal universe. You’ll encounter strange characters, unfamiliar artifacts and scenes resembling Richard’s former life, of which he has lost all memory. Yet, he knows that this is not where he is supposed to be. The world he has come to inhabit is strange and distant. He feels the urge to find out more about this surreal universe and the creatures inhabiting it, in order to find a way out – out and back to his real self, his real life that he knows he has yet to fully recall.

Engulfed in mystery, you take cautious steps deep into the unknown, only to have your mind swept away by yet more questions, nibbling at your grasp of what you think is real and true – your certainties will start to crumble.

With no way back and a strong urge for answers beating in your temples, you push on, striving to get a grip on the odd difficulties surrounding you, eagerly awaiting the moment your mind will become untangled when the thread of your journey finally unravels all the way. But there is some way yet to go…

“Soon you will have all the answers to your questions. But you still have so much to see…”

1C Company announced it is launching the story-driven action PC adventure with VR support, Unknown Fate, on September 6 following a strong reception at the just concluded Gamescom 2018.

At launch, the game supports PC and HTC Vive gameplay, with Oculus Rift support coming soon via update. Additionally, the company announced it is working with Tobii to add sophisticated eye tracking features for a more immersive experience in both VR and non-VR modes, with eye tracking already implemented in non-VR mode.

“Players will be able to embark on an amazing and immersive journey in Unknown Fate when it launches next week on Steam for PC with HTC Vive VR support,” said Nikolay Baryshnikov, VP of 1C Company. “There was tremendous excitement among players at gamescom, and we’re thrilled to be adding eye tracking support via Tobii.”

Seeing through the eyes of Richard, the main character, players must find their way through several worlds, each occupied by a guardian. The four guardians seem to be there to help Richard literally collect all the pieces of his broken memories together, and find his purpose in these strange worlds. But while each of the four guardians is only able to occupy his own world, there is another, who has succeeded in breaking the boundaries tying him to one place. Now, he roams all the worlds freely, traversing them at will. He might be able to answer all the questions in Richard’s head, but how can the truth be told from the lies? And when the unraveling takes place, Richard will be forced to choose a side...
