'Friday the 13th: The Game' Going The Way of the Dodo, Being Delisted End Of the Year

by Rainier on June 8, 2023 @ 9:26 a.m. PDT

Friday the 13th: The Game is an online, asymmetric multiplayer experience where one player will assume the role of Jason Voorhees against seven other players assuming the roles of camp counselors trying to survive the night.

Friday the 13th: The Game will deliver a terrifying combination of features designed to satisfy gamers and fans of the Friday the 13th franchise alike. In addition to bringing the tension and horror of the movies to life, the game will also let players don the mask of Jason Voorhees for the first time and control all new levels of brutal action! The development team had earlier collaborated on the unreleased survival horror-themed game Slasher Vol. 1: Summer Camp and plans to integrate much of that design into the new Friday the 13th game.

You don’t have to eat, drink or sleep. Just live. That’s hard enough as it is.

While the writing has been on the wall for quite some time, Gun Interactive announced that Friday the 13th: The Game will no longer be for sale (aka delisted) after December 31, 2023. This also comes hot on the hells of composer Harry Manfredini's revealing that he is collaborating on a new Friday the 13th game. Until then, Gun Media is dropping Friday the 13th: The Game's price to $4.99, with all DLCs being reduced to $0.99.

The time has come. Our license for Friday the 13th will expire on December 31st, 2023. On that date, Friday the 13th: The Game will no longer be available for sale, both physically and digitally.

The game will, however, continue to function through at least December 31, 2024, if you already own it. At this time, we've made the decision to reduce the price to $4.99 for the base game and $0.99 for each piece of DLC content. We will continue to offer the title and content at that price point right up until it is removed from digital/physical storefronts on December 31st, 2023.

We would like to thank our community for the dedication they've shown to Friday the 13th: The Game and Gun Interactive as a while, and we are happy the game will live on awhile longer and continue to be enjoyed by anyone owning the game already.

Friday the 13th: The Game Ultimate Slasher Edition is currently available on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC.
