Japanese developer Treasure, known for titles such as Bangai-O Spirits or Gunstar Heroes and currently working on Sin & Punishment 2, has developed several memorable titles in its long history. In a recent
interview, CEO Masato Maegawa revealed that, similar to Treasure bringing its GameCube shmup Ikaruga to Xbox Live Arcade, discussions are ongoing to also remake the SEGA Saturn classic Radiant Silvergun for XBLA, at Microsoft's request.

Xbox revealed sales data showing Christmas 2008 was the biggest sales period ever in the brand’s six-year European history, with sales of Xbox 360 almost double those of Christmas 2007. Eight million Xbox 360 consoles have been sold in Europe, the Middle East and Africa up to the end of 2008.

Softmax has signed an MOU for cooperation in the production of "cultural contents" with PMC Production. In the statement Softmax revealed that it is working on a Magna Carta 2, a sequel to its 2005 fantasy RPG, as well as 2 new NDS titles.
