PC and Macintosh gamers can now experience the ultimate skating challenge with the release of Activision Inc.'s Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 video game. The multi-platform game was developed by Beenox and published by Aspyr. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 lets players take on the role of legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk and 13 other professional skateboarders as they skate through enormous free roaming levels, choose from 190 progressively harder goals and build their skills to perform 14 of the greatest skateboarding stunts of all time.

Players take on the role of legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk and 13 other athletes as they skate through enormous free roaming levels, choose from 190 progressively harder goals and build their skills to perform 14 of the greatest skateboarding stunts of all time. Aspyr today announced that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 have gone gold for PC, as well as Mac. The game is expected in stores on August 14.

GameSpyDaily got word from Aspyr Media that it will publish Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 for both the PC and Mac. Full details will be released tomorrow, but we do know that the game will offer just about all the great features of the PS2 version along with support for up to eight players online or via LAN. No word yet on the official release date, but Aspyr says that a demo and a trailer are in the works, though didn't specify when they would be made available. Read more for details & screens or

Thirty-five tracks of high-octane music will fuel big air tricks in Activision, Inc.’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4, the sequel to the #1 action sports video game of 2001. The game, which allows players to experience the ultimate skating challenge, features tracks from rock royalty and hot new artists. Activision, Inc. announced today that the company has extended its successful partnership with world-renowned skateboarder Tony Hawk through an exclusive multi-year video game licensing agreement that expires in 2015. Mr. Hawk will continue to headline Activision O2's flagship action sports franchise, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, which has generated approximately $500 million worldwide through March 31, 2002 and which was the single largest independent U.S. video game franchise during calendar 2001, according to NPD.
