Gears of War 2 picks up six months after the events of the original, thrusting players back into humankind's epic battle for survival against a nightmarish force of underground creatures known as the Locust Horde. At X08 Cliff Bleszinski revealed that Epic plans to release "multiplayer map focused downloadable content shortly after the game's launch, so either new maps and/or new modes.

Set in a modern day survival-horror universe, the co-operative gameplay of Left 4 Dead casts four "Survivors" in an epic struggle against hordes of swarming zombies and terrifying "Boss Infected" mutants. Valve's Gabe Newell revealed at the Games Convention that demos for the X360 and PC versions are planned, although no time frame (before or after launch) were given.

A remake of 3D Realms' FPS Duke Nukem 3D is inching closer as earlier this week the achievements list indicated the imminent release, which has now been confirmed by Xbox rep Jason Ing, stating it has passed certification and is expected to hit XBLA in September. The updated Duke Nukem 3D will not only have enhanced gfx, four-player online co-op, but will also allow you to capture multiplayer battles and share with other XBL users, as well as a rewind function in singleplayer to relive (or redo) those climactic firefights.
