Following the success of last year's translucent-green Limited Edition Xbox, the Crystal console looks set to rapidly become a collectors item as well as a style icon. Whether online with Xbox® LiveTM, offline or even switched off, the Crystal Limited Edition Xbox is the ultimate fusion of sexy design, the most powerful console hardware available, and fantastic gaming experiences. The Crystal Limited Edition Xbox will retail in limited edition 'crystal' packaging, an added bonus for collectors.
Michel Cassius, Senior Director, Xbox Platform and Marketing, commented: "The new Crystal Xbox is a beautiful piece of technology that any gamer would be proud to own. To be able to see through to the very heart of the Xbox is a cool thing and we believe that gamers will love this for their homes."
Second-quarter financial results recently announced by Microsoft show that Xbox has sold more than 3.7 million consoles life-to-date in Europe up to 31st December 2003. Sales were buoyed by fantastic-value offers at retail as well as great games such as Project Gotham Racing 2, Top Spin, Crimson Skies, Counter-Strike (all Microsoft Game Studios), Need for Speed: Underground (Electronic Arts), Rainbow Six 3 (Ubi Soft) and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (LucasArts).
The great games keep coming too, with Halo 2, RalliSport Challenge 2, Fable and BC from Microsoft Game Studios and titles like Ninja Gaiden (Tecmo), BreakdownTM (Namco) and Full Spectrum Warrior (THQ) all on their way for 2004, along with other anticipated titles such as Deus Ex: Invisible War (Eidos), DOA: Ultimate (Tecmo) and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow (Ubi Soft).
