Get the Gangland MP demo off Worthplaying (120mb)

This demo contains one 2 player conquest and one 6 player shootout. Notice that you can play "skirmish" in the conquest but have to find some human opponents in the shootout. Players will only be able to play against other players using the Multiplayer demo.

This demo only contains a portion of the Gangland full game. In the complete game players must build blooming business empires by intimidating local merchants in order to gain access to ammunition and weapons and to produce resources like liquor and stolen goods. Players will need to marry strong women and get children who are imperative for any Don who wants a large powerful family. Players must also establish good relationships with the "International Connections" in order to secure access to Super Units and Super Vehicles and will need to gain XP with their hero in order to survive the street fights in Paradise City.

The full game contains a total of 16 conquest and 12 challenge missions. Not to mention 24 multiplayer maps ranging from 2 to 8 players.

Troubleshooting

If you are having problems with running Gangland on your system, please check the following:

  1. Make sure your system meets the minimum specifications for the program (look above).
  2. If you are running Windows 2000 or XP, you must install and run the game as the Admin user.
  3. Check to make sure you have sufficient free hard disk space. If you do not have at least 200 MB free space before installing the game, you may
    encounter problems.
  4. Make sure to shut down all background applications before launching the game, to eliminate any possible conflicts.

It is strongly recommended to turn off all background applications when running graphically intensive programs. Many applications can cause errors such as GPFs, color scrambling, loss of sound effects or music, etc. Taking a minute to turn off these applications can save you the trouble of rebooting later. Background applications include such things as System Agent, Norton Utilities, internet chat utilities, virus checkers and screen savers. Crash guard programs such as First Aid for Windows can also cause problems.

In Windows 98/ME:
To close your background applications, press CTRL+ALT+DEL once. This will bring up the Close Programs dialog box. To End Task on a program, highlight its name in the list and click the End Task button. End Task on all but Explorer and Systray. If a window pops up saying a program is not responding click End Task.

Note that you are not Deleting any programs with this procedure, you are merely disabling them temporarily. They will be reloaded the next time you start your machine.

In Windows 2000/XP:
First, press CTRL+ALT+DEL once. This will bring up the Windows Security dialog box. Click on the Applications button. In Applications screen, highlight one of the entries, then click on the End Task button to close the program. Repeat until this list is empty.

Next, look in the lower right hand corner. Right click on any of the icons and select the Quit/Exit option. Do this to all of the icons that have a quit option.

You can shut them down also by using MSConfig.
1. Go to Start, Run, and type in "msconfig".
2. Click OK
3. On the General Tab, choose Selective Startup. Uncheck the option to Load
Startup items.
4. Click Apply, then Ok, and restart the system when prompted.

4.1 Specific Issues:

4.1.1. I get an error about a missing FMOD.DLL file when I try to launch the game.

This will occur if you installed the game to a different directory than the default, and used non-alphanumeric characters in the name of the directory. Uninstall
the program, and reinstall using the default directory.

4.1.2. When I run the game, I get a message that my processor is not fully compatible with Intel Pentium.

This message will be displayed if your processor is below the minimum specifications required to run the game. You may experience issues with game performance and graphics, if the game functions properly at all. Please refer to the minimum system specifications required to run the game.

4.1.3. The game is unstable or often produce visual bugs (e.g. the user interface disappears).
