'Next Car Game' Pre-Order Gets You Early Access - Screens

by Rainier on Sept. 2, 2013 @ 2:18 a.m. PDT

Wreckfest is a demolition derby-themed racing game with special attention paid to soft-body damage modeling, sophisticated driving dynamics and in-depth vehicle upgrading, featuring both demolition derbies and more traditional track races.

Have you ever hoped you could get back to the glorious days of Demolition Derby and FlatOut, climb behind the wheel of your banged-up ride and once again wreck your way to the finish line and show who’s the boss? You’re not the only one. Over the years, we’ve been asked thousands of times when are we going to get back to our roots and make another racing game that would capture the same spirit of over-the-top action and reckless racing.

Bugbear's NEXT CAR GAME is going to bring those unforgettable moments up-to-date, throw in the mix vehicle upgrading and spice it all up with massive online races where players can battle it out with their tricked out bangers.

"It’s really something that we’ve wanted to do for a long time, and the best part of it all is that we want to make the game with YOU! We've managed to nail down the basic stuff on our own, and now we're ready to show the game to you and take it to the finish line together."

Bugbear’s Creative Director and CEO, Janne Alanenpää: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the excited fan reaction to the teaser trailer we released in February. It showed us that there’s a dedicated fan base out there that are long overdue for a game that they want. That lead us to think that we should make the game together with the fans, to make sure they will have the game they want.”

Bugbear's NEXT CAR GAME is all about fun, breakneck racing and over-the-top crashes. We don’t shy away from contact, and indeed, our in-house engine is all about what happens when cars collide with each other and the world around them at reckless speeds.

It’s motorsport, but not just any motorsport. It’s MOTORSPORT WITH ATTITUDE.

Expect epic crashes and tight, neck-to-neck fights over the finish line on run-down racing tracks. Expect proper, big DEMOLITION DERBIES. Expect brand new ways for metal to bend and the defining once-in-the-lifetime moments that can be achieved only with true-to-life physics simulation.

And don’t think that’s all. Not only the technology has been completely overhauled and brought up-to-date, but we’ve also gone to the source and figured out what a game like NEXT CAR GAME is really all about: taking your rust bucket, building it into a formidable track weapon and then battling it out on the track. To that end there’s now a lot of focus on CAR BUILDING AND MAINTENANCE, with hunting for rare, sought-after parts and replacing damaged components, all that brings an added tactical element to the gameplay.

If you pre-order, you get a chance to see the game early.

First, once we reach 10'000 pre-orders we're going to release a sneak peek of the game. This is a going to be a great glimpse of things to come, a fun thing to kickstart the community.

Then, later this year, we're going to release the early access, a pre-Alpha build for all pre-order customers. This is a much more complete version, but still very much in the making.

So not only do you have a chance to join the fun right away and get access to exclusive content, you also get a chance to help shaping the game into something YOU want to play. Make no mistake about it, this game is being developed for you – don’t miss out on the chance to say your word! Want a specific game mode? Don’t think your favorite car model is included? Let’s hear it!
