'Neverwinter' (ALL) Swords of Chult Update Comes To PS4 And Xbox One In January

by Rainier on Dec. 14, 2017 @ 3:51 p.m. PST

In Neverwinter, players choose to become one of five classic D&D classes and team up with friends or NPCs to form five-person co-op groups. Players also create their own storylines and quests utilizing a user-friendly content generation system.

Players explore the vast city of Neverwinter and its surrounding countryside, learning the vivid history of the iconic city and battling its many enemies. In Neverwinter, players can create their own quests and campaigns with the Foundry, a powerful content creation tool that allows players to seamlessly integrate their adventures in to the live game world.

They might not be the most pleasant-looking creatures, but they are definitely a fierce bunch of savage and bloodthirsty warriors. By plaguing the civilized races, Orcs have always been a major threat to humans, elves and dwarfs. Laying claim to the area in the northern half of the old Tower District, Orcs have made the Cloak Tower in Neverwinter their home. Even the most courageous heroes will have to fight their way through the ruins of this district to put an end to the Orc domination and help restore Neverwinter to her former glory.

Dinosaurs, undead and evil servants of Acererak breach the walls of Port Nyanzaru, signaling adventurers to protect the city. It’s time for battle when Neverwinter’s Swords of Chult update arrives on Xbox One and PlayStation®4 January 9, 2018. This update features a new endgame Skirmish, a host of PvP changes, inventory management improvements and more for the free-to-play MMORPG set in the Forgotten Realms.

A five-player skirmish, “The Merchant Prince’s Folly,” gives end-game adventurers dynamic new content to experience with multiple enemy, location and daytime combination possibilities leading to new rewards. Additionally, all competitive adventurers can now test their mettle in revamped PvP, featuring the addition of a permanent solo queue, Tenacity stat rework, armor penetration changes, control effect adjustments and new gear rewards. Swords of Chult brings more quality-of-life improvements to the refinement system, dungeon queuing and the campaign progression system for alts, offering a better in-game experience.
