'The Badass Hero' (ALL) Now Called 'Fury Unleashed' Will Be Showing Off At Gamescom - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on Aug. 7, 2018 @ 9:42 a.m. PDT

Fury Unleashed is a rogue-lite action-platformer where you play through pages of a comic book.

Experience fast-paced hit-and-run gameplay and never do the same thing twice, thanks to procedurally generated levels and random items – all in highly refined, modern, hi-res 2D art.

Somehow, chaos has entered the comic book multiverse and your whole world has gone nuts! That's how your story starts: you come from a long-gone era and were once a great hero, but now things have gone bad – your powers have been lost! Your quest is simple, yet deadly: you need to write your story anew and relive your greatest accomplishments. Order will be restored if, and only if, you prove that you are the most furious among the heroes out there.

Your guns are your best friends, and ink is the new gold – collect it from defeated enemies to upgrade your hero. The more dynamic and forceful your play style, the greater the rewards! There is always a cost, though. Stay focused at all times or you will die sooner than you think.

Oh, and keep an eye on those secret rooms, as what you find there might be quite a surprise. Even for such a tough fighter as yourself.

“To change the game’s title after we’ve already made it available in Steam Early Access was not an easy decision to make,” says Marcin Draszczuk, Awesome Game Studio’s founder. “Nevertheless, it had to be made after we heard many times that it’s causing unnecessary controversy and is a turn off for people who would otherwise be interested in it. Furthermore, after months of development The Badass Hero’s art style has changed so massively that reflecting the change with a new name was a good idea to disconnect it from the first screenshots and trailers that were released in 2016 – do you still remember those big-head characters? Google does. Last, but not least, we’ve experienced significant difficulties promoting the game due to some social media’s profanity filters. However, one thing that hasn’t changed is the skill-based, action-packed gameplay with a combo system that will reward you for playing like a badass,” Draszczuk added.

“Other big announcements we have about the game include the addition of local co-op, requested by many players who tried the game in Steam Early Access, and a complete rework of the in-game music by award-winning composers Adam Skorupa and Krzysztof Wierzynkiewicz, whose work can also be heard in The Witcher, Bulletstorm, and Shadow Warrior 2. We believe that they are all great additions to the title that many players have already loved, as you can tell from our Early Access player reviews,” Draszczuk concluded.

Key Features:

  • Captivating soundtrack composed by Adam Skorupa and Krzysztof Wierzynkiewicz, the creators of tracks for The Witcher and Shadow Warrior 2.

Fury Unleashed is currently available on Steam Early Access, and will launch on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch in early 2019.
