'Fury Unleashed' (ALL) Gets Release Date, Playable Demos - Trailer

by Rainier on March 30, 2020 @ 11:44 a.m. PDT

Fury Unleashed is a rogue-lite action-platformer where you play through pages of a comic book.

Experience fast-paced hit-and-run gameplay and never do the same thing twice, thanks to procedurally generated levels and random items – all in highly refined, modern, hi-res 2D art.

Somehow, chaos has entered the comic book multiverse and your whole world has gone nuts! That's how your story starts: you come from a long-gone era and were once a great hero, but now things have gone bad – your powers have been lost! Your quest is simple, yet deadly: you need to write your story anew and relive your greatest accomplishments. Order will be restored if, and only if, you prove that you are the most furious among the heroes out there.

Your guns are your best friends, and ink is your most valuable resource – collect it from defeated enemies to permanently upgrade your hero. The more dynamic and brave your play style, the greater the rewards! But remember to stay focused at all times, or you will die sooner than you think and lose all equipment you found on your way.

Oh, and keep an eye on those secret rooms, as what you find there might be quite a surprise. Even for such a tough fighter as yourself.

Take advantage of a unique combo system to unleash your fury and become a whirling tornado of destruction. Discover why your creator doubted in you and prove him wrong.

Fury Unleashed will launch for PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch on May 8, 2020 for $14.99/€14.99/£12.99

There are free demo versions available today on PC (Steam), Xbox One, and European digital stores of PS4 and Nintendo Switch. The American PS4 demo version is coming on March 31, and for the American Switch demo version, it will be available on April 9.

Demo contains nearly the entire content of the first of three comic books included in the full game, and character progression made in the demo seamlessly transfers to the full version.

Key Features:

  • Comic book setting – dive into a comic book reality with Metal Slug inspired visuals.
  • Intriguing storyline - Find out why is John Kowalsky, author of acclaimed Fury Unleashed series having a creativity crisis and see if you can help him deal with it.
  • Action platforming with 360° shooting – jump, dash, shoot and slash in any direction. Movement options are limitless, it's up to you to choose the best angle to deal with a given set of enemies.
  • Two game difficulties:
    • Hard - for gamers who enjoy the challenge and are willing to improve if necessary.
    • Easy - for those who prefer to explore the game and its storyline at their terms.
  • Procedurally generated levels – you’ll never know what’s waiting for you around the corner.
  • Customizable character – shoot as a male, exterminate enemies as a female, take advantage of the Steam Workshop and make the hero your own.
  • Permadeath with character progression – you keep collected ink even when you die, so you'll always make a small progress.
  • Combo system - if you can kill enemies quickly enough, your power will increase and you will be able to take some hits without getting damaged. It's even possible to beat the entire game in one combo!
  • Three unique comic book stories to play through:
    • Face the Evil God in Awakening of the Ancient Gods!
    • Defeat the Nazis in Operation Crimson Dusk!
    • Defend the Earth from alien invasion in Earth’s Last Stand!
    • Explore the creator's unfinished ideas abandoned in his long-forgotten sketchbook.
  • Lots of game-changing items – wreak havoc on your enemies with your standard military gear, but don't hesitate to use alien equipment, experimental weapons, and objects originating from fantasy-themed issues.
  • Secret rooms to discover, adding yet another layer to your comic book multiverse.
  • Local co-op mode - Bring in your sidekick to increase your chances and double the fun.
  • Captivating soundtrack - composed by Adam Skorupa and Krzysztof Wierzynkiewicz, the creators of tracks for The Witcher, Bulletstorm and Shadow Warrior 2.

Currently available on Steam Early Access, Fury Unleashed (previously known as The Badass Hero) will launch for PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch on May 8, 2020 for $14.99/€14.99/£12.99.
