'Deep Rock Galactic' (ALL) Surpasses Two Million Copies Sold

Deep Rock Galactic is a procedurally generated first person co-op shooter for up to 4 players.

As a team of veteran dwarven space miners, you must go on missions for your corporate overlords and venture into the deepest, most dangerous cave systems of the most hostile planet ever discovered.

Experience teamwork as you’ve never experienced it in a co-op game before. Complete missions and gather ever more riches. Expand your roster of class-based skills, unlock new gear and weapons, and take on the worst monsters the galaxy has to offer.

Players take up arms as one of four classes of badass dwarven miners, each with their own invaluable set of skills and gear. The Driller, the Engineer, the Scout and the Gunner must work together to survive a relentless onslaught of ravenous aliens and escape the procedurally generated caves with their bounty intact.

Enlisted dwarves will be paired with up to three like-minded brethren and sent on missions to the most hostile planet ever discovered, Hoxxes IV, to mine precious gems and metals. Cooperation is essential to your success and, as an interplanetary mining conglomerate, Deep Rock Galactic depends on its employees to take care of each other.

Since launching out of Early Access in May last year, co-op FPS Deep Rock Galactic has gone from strength to strength, with sales figures tripling since 2019.

Featuring at #1 on Steam’s best sellers list multiple times throughout 2020, Coffee Stain Publishing and Ghost Ship Games announced that the game has surpassed two million sales across PC and Xbox.

Across Steam alone in 2020, the game had an average of 46,300 daily active players. With more than 300,000 people playing Deep Rock Galactic on Steam each month, the user base has almost tripled since 2019. Players have spent more than eight thousand real-life years mining for Morkite on Hoxxes since the game’s launch in 2018.

Deep Rock Galactic is nothing without its community, and it has been the driving force behind the game’s success. With over 189,000 active members, the DRG Discord server is among the 25 most active gaming servers in the world. Since the launch in 2018, more than 1000 fans have contributed to the effort of translating Deep Rock Galactic into 20+ languages.

Søren Lundgaard, CEO of Ghost Ship Games commented: “It is a founding principle of our studio that our games be co-operative not just in genre, but also in the way they are built. We have been open with our community throughout the entire development process. We are a small studio, but the loyalty and passion that our fans have shown has enabled us to create something huge. Deep Rock is very much an evolving game, and we are excited to reveal what we have in store for 2021, with many of the upcoming features inspired by the community themselves!”

Albert Säfström, CEO of Coffee Stain Publishing continued: “Deep Rock Galactic was quite bare bone when it launched into Early Access in 2018. Since then, it has grown in scope, ambition, and quality. In doing so, Ghost Ship has proven what a dedicated team with a short iteration cycle that consistently listens to feedback and continues to push out new content can achieve. The results speak for themselves.”
