'Kainga: Seeds Of Civilization' Available On Steam Early Access, Reveals Development Roadmap - Screens & Trailer

Kainga: Seeds Of Civilization is a roguelite village-builder where your choices will shape the survival of your people.

Kainga: Seeds of Civilization is a roguelite village-builder set in a world full of mystery and surprise. Taking on the role of the Thinker, the leader of the village, you will need to adapt to the procedurally generated environment and surroundings and make the right choices to allow your people and village to flourish. The Thinker is responsible for passing the players’ decisions and commands on to the people. Although the citizens are somewhat expendable, if the Thinker falls, you lose. Much like the king in chess, they're weak and vulnerable and must be protected at all costs.

Establishing a village is easy, survival is not. Threats to your people come from all directions; weather events, the environment, wildlife and demands or raids from other tribes all threaten your very existence. In Kainga: Seeds of Civilization, you are not the hero or savior of the world, merely a participant in its ever-expanding story.

Instead of following the long-winded city builder formula, Kainga: Seeds of Civilization is focused on short, 30 minute to 1 hour challenges. Each challenge is a fresh and diverse experience in a new location which still allows the player to make progression between runs.

Kainga: Seeds of Civilization is now available through Steam Early Access.

The Early Access release launch of Kainga: Seeds of Civilization Early sees the addition of more exciting new content including:

  • New playable region, the archipelagos known as "The Pebbles"
  • 2 New leviathan class beasts, the Nautalisk, and the Icebreaker

  • Another 35 new technologies to unlock, now over 140 in total
  • New quest systems, linking multiple missions for a greater reward
  • The removal of the technology tree and resource claiming from the UI and added them into the world for a more diegetic experience

Early Access is just one step in the journey into the world of Kainga. Each major milestone is pairs major content and mechanics improvements alongside a new biome, so we can slowly unlock every region on the map while filling out the game's features at the same time.

Trade, Travel and Allies

This first stop on our early access journey is to improve your neighbors, how they build their towns and how you can interact with them. This update will bring a trading system and allow you to turn once fierce foes into helpful allies! The Edge biome is a wide savannah with deep canyons and water below. Fires and wind sweep these grasslands where bridges and boats become surprisingly useful. additionally, this update brings more content in the way of Thinkers, units, mission types and of course technology, greatly expanding the replayability of Kainga.

In addition to the lists above, there are a number of improvements that will occur before the Early Access journey ends, but not mentioned specifically, things like:

  • Kainga on Mac and Linux
