In Firegirl, an action rescue platformer with roguelite elements, players take on the role of a young fire rescue officer breathing new life into her rundown local fire station.

Armed with a trusty ax and high-pressure fire hose that doubles as a jetpack, you'll respond to emergency calls across a procedurally generated city.

When Firegirl arrives on the scene, she has three minutes to save all civilians caught in the blaze! Feats of bravery and other gameplay features can be leveraged to extend your rescue time, ensuring you complete your mission. In a mystery that goes all the way to the top, uncover the truth of why these fires have engulfed the city.

Douse roaring flames, chop through obstacles, extinguish dastardly pyro-monsters, and use your hose to boost your jumps and reach high places to find all sorts of extra goodies. Hang out at the Firehouse between missions to upgrade your equipment, hire new staff, pay any bills you've accrued, and hear from your ever-growing fanbase after your heroic exploits. Working at a top fire rescue station isn't a cake walk, and you'll need all the help you can get to prepare for the next fires about to break out!

Firegirl fuses retro and modern sensibilities, mixing pixel art with 3D visuals and next-gen rendering techniques like dynamic lighting to create a wholly unique look and feel.

Thunderful Publishing & developer Dejima confirmed the PC release of Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue is set for December 14, 2021.

Dejima has released a new developer commentary offering a deep dive into the title’s core mechanics and its compelling gameplay.

In order to ensure that the game meets Thunderful and Dejima’s quality standards, the console version of Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue has been delayed, releasing for Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch platforms in 2022.

“We’re of course disappointed that we have to delay Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue’s release on consoles, but it's important to us to deliver a quality title to console players and delaying those versions until 2022 is what we had to do to achieve that,” said Julien Ribassin, founder of Dejima. “We’re really excited to be releasing the game on PC on December 14th and hope players will enjoy checking out our latest developer commentary for a sneak peak at what’s coming, look forward to another video soon!”

Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue is coming to PC (Steam) on December 14, 2021, followed by Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S in 2022.
