'Stellaris' (ALL) Nemesis Species Pack Gets PC Date, Lithoids Species Pack Gets Console Date - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on March 13, 2021 @ 3:41 p.m. PST

Stellaris turns your eyes to the stars in a science fiction strategy game that will be about more than just building empires in the skies.

For millennia our race has developed, explored and battled for control of a planet. Now we turn our eyes beyond our own solar system, to other stars in our galaxy. New planets, new discoveries, maybe even new civilizations await us. And Paradox Development Studio, the masters of grand strategy, will be your guides on this new voyage.

With a dynamic decision system and a heavy emphasis on exploration and science teams, Stellaris gives you much more to research than bigger lasers or stronger hulls – though you’ll need those too. Space is very big, and your first step will be getting a grasp of just what is around you and how it can be best used for the benefit of your civilization.

Nemesis is a full featured addition to Paradox Interactive's grand strategy sci-fi game Stellaris and will grant fans the most powerful tools and mechanics ever introduced to Stellaris, invigorating playthroughs for both new galactic travelers and long time strategy gamers.

As a hopeless stalemate threatens the very state of the galaxy, players will be tasked to either bring things back from the edge of destruction and restore order, or to use relentless force and end all of existence. What will the player choose – to defend the galaxy, or burn it to the ground?

Players will also be encouraged to use lies and deceit in order to gather intel on opponents and turn allies against each other. All new gameplay mechanics will prove that sometimes, wars are won quietly, behind enemy lines. Knowledge is power - especially in times of conflict.

Whether one chooses to take power through diplomacy or subterfuge, or snuff out the stars one by one as they affect their most maniacal laugh, players can expect more control than they ever thought possible with new features:

  • Become the Crisis: Become the fire that spreads across the galaxy, threatening its very existence. As an empire becomes more and more menacing, it will unlock powerful bonuses to finish a hopeless galactic stalemate on your own terms. If the rest of the galaxy can’t stop it in time, players can unleash enough power to end all of existence!
  • Galactic Custodian: It’s up to gamers to campaign for the Galactic Community to declare them a Custodian, granting emergency powers to combat the Crisis. Use these extraordinary abilities to bring the galaxy back from the edge of destruction and restore order. When the crisis is defeated one may choose to relinquish their powers...or keep them, and form a new Galactic Imperium.
  • Espionage: Knowledge is power; use new tools to spy on enemies (or friends). Deploy Envoys to lead covert Operations and counterintelligence behind enemy borders. Lies and deceit will throw your enemies off your scent while you learn their deepest secrets.
  • As Infiltration Level grows players will unlock new operations, such as Sabotage Starbase, Acquire Assets or Steal Tech. Turn allies against each other through the use of smear campaigns and by instigating diplomatic incidents. Play it right, and they’ll be none the wiser: what enemies don’t know will hurt them.
  • New Ship Set: Nemesis includes new ships inspired by some of the most imposing empires in science fiction. Whether you’re taking control of the galaxy or wiping it out, you’ll look as powerful as you feel.

Wield unimaginable power with Nemesis, coming to Stellaris on April 15, 2021.

Stellaris: Console Edition gamers will be able to get their hands on the Lithoids Species Pack on April 25th! Console gamers can look forward to trying out the entirely new Lithoid species who’s play style focuses on mineral production, relentless colonization of even the most marginal worlds, and highly resilient ground fighters.

Accompanying this release will be the free 2.6 Stellaris: Console Edition update, re-working the game’s economic systems. Highlights of what’s coming with this patch can be found in the trailer below! This will be made available to all Stellaris: Console Edition players with or without the purchase of the Lithoids Species Pack.
