'Ender Lilies: Quietus Of The Knights' (ALL) Gets Dated, Confirmed For Xbox One - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on April 14, 2021 @ 3:32 p.m. PDT

Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights is a 2D dark fantasy metroidvania fairy tale.

After waking up alone in a church with no memory of recent events, priestess Lily finds the surrounding hamlet and woods occupied only by the undead. A cursed rain falls upon the Ruined Kingdom, and only Lily can purify the corruption and free its denizens from the blight.

Guide the priestess Lily through winding caverns, underwater landscapes, forests of glowing trees and other areas devastated by a rain turning people undead. Each biome is gorgeously illustrated in a distinctly Japanese dark fantasy style. Purify challenging and ghastly bosses to recruit them as equippable companions. Mix and match the souls of the fallen to create an ethereal bodyguard squad, with attacks ranging from powerful axe blows to ranged bow strikes.

Upon exorcising foes, Lily will experience visions revealing glimpses of the past. Piece together the whole truth and solve the mystery behind the unholy rain before facing a choice that will decide the fate of a kingdom.

A poignant soundtrack from Mili, veteran of anime series including Ghost in the Shell and Goblin Slayer as well as rhythm games enjoyed by millions such as Cytus and Deemo, brings the world of Ender Lilies to life. Sound effects by former Sega producer Keiichi Sugiyama with credits on franchises like Rez and Skies of Arcadia punctuate the soundtrack’s melancholy melodies.

Ender Lilies: Quietus Of The Knights will come to Nintendo Switch alongside the Steam v1.0 launch out of Early Access for Windows PC on June 22.

PS5 will leap into action via backwards compatibility with the PlayStation 4 version on July 6. Xbox Series X|S will now be joined by a confirmed Xbox One version at a later date.

All console releases will include the five new areas coming to PC in the v1.0 update, bringing the total up to eight and unveiling a dramatic conclusion to the gripping narrative.

“Early Access users are in love with the soundtrack and have clamored to see the ending of  Ender Lilies. We hope they will enjoy the rest of Lily’s journey,” said Hiroyuki Kobayashi, CEO, Binary Haze Interactive. “Between feedback from players, our action-packed gameplay, and the beautiful atmosphere created by Mili’s music and our artists,  Ender Lilies  will satisfy existing metroidvania fans while bringing new ones into the fold.”
