'The Invincible' Gives Us A Glimpse Of Life On Regis III - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on Nov. 22, 2022 @ 2:17 p.m. PST

The Invincible is a first-person, single-player sci-fi thriller set in a retro-future timeline.

Set in a distant galaxy on the mysterious planet, Regis III, players will take on the role of scientist, Dr. Yasna, and can look forward to multiple story paths and endings in this cinematic adventure thriller. The single-player story of The Invincible will introduce gamers firsthand to the idea that there are places in the Universe that are not only unwelcoming to us as humans, but entirely forbidden.

Inspired by the work of bestselling Science Fiction writer, Stanisław Lem, who has influenced the likes of Futurama’s David X Cohen, The Sims’ Will Wright, and Hideo Kojima, author of Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding, The Invincible will plunge players onto a distant planet Regis III set in atompunk aesthetics. The story takes place in an alternative retro-future timeline, where digital technology has not been invented, nor has The Cold War ended. Although humanity uses analog technology, it has conquered vast amounts of planets and ventured into many other galaxies thanks to it.

Waking up as a space scientist on a hostile planet, you embark on a mysterious mission to find the missing crew of your spaceship. Survival is a matter of your correct choices, taken whilst uncovering the secrets of the planet, bigger than anyone thought.

You are a scientist onboard an interstellar scientific expedition, suddenly thrown into a life-or-death rescue mission. Landing on a planet Regis III you have to find the missing crew members using some advanced space equipment, whilst relying on your brains and instincts to survive on the planet which quickly occurs to be unwelcoming. Soon you’ll discover that Regis III holds terrifying secrets which are uncovered while you’re piecing together the fate of your crew. And as you delve deeper into the mystery, you realise that perhaps you are not alone, and that some places like this planet are better left untouched. But it’s too late to turn back.

In today’s training video exercise, Starward Industries and 11 bit studios present you with a brief glimpse of life on Regis III. Initial recon has told us that Regis III seems to be an unusually calm planet, with idyllic and breathtaking vistas in abundance. We’ve seen no signs of herbivores or predators, which should make further human exploration of the planet a walk in the park.

Not everything is as it seems on Regis III! Life often proves to be much more complicated than what it presents on the surface, doesn’t it?

You are Yasna, a highly qualified astrobiologist sent on a scientific mission to discover what lies on the dusty surface of the uncharted, eerie planet, Regis III. When your crew disappears, things quickly get out of hand and the mind-boggling scientific phenomena that you experience throughout the course of your journey will bend your understanding of the difference between life and death, and force you to rethink humankind's position as a pinnacle of evolution.
