In partnership with Riot's regional offices and GlobalGiving, the Riot Games Social Impact Fund selected 84 nonprofits that Riot believes are leading impactful and meaningful work in 28 countries/regions. Riot has allocated over $6M, raised through various in-game fundraisers, to create a charity pool for each country/region based on their proportional participation in these campaigns.
From December 12 through December 22, players will head to Riot’s website to learn about each nonprofit and select which one they would like Riot to donate to. At the end of the voting period, the organization with the most votes from each country/region will receive 50% of that country/region’s charity pool. The other two organizations will each receive 25%. Riot has guaranteed a minimum grant of USD $10,000 to each participating nonprofit.
“Every year our players exceed our expectations when it comes to raising money for the Social Impact Fund and participating in our in-game fundraisers; this year was no different,” said Jimmy Hahn, Senior Manager, Social Impact at Riot Games. “We believe in creating opportunities where players can make meaningful change in their local communities and charity voting campaigns are a great way for them to tell us what causes and charities matter most to their communities. We truly have the best players in the world and I’m excited to see which charities they choose!”

So far in 2022, players have shown up in big ways for the Social Impact Fund. From helping Riot distribute $5.4 million in humanitarian relief to the people of Ukraine to participating in in-game fundraisers across all five of Riot’s titles. Since it was created, the Social Impact Fund has donated to more than 400 organizations across 25 countries and distributed over $23M in grants.
