'Race Condition' Is A Low-poly Arcade Racing Game Coming To PC In March - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on Feb. 17, 2022 @ 10:58 a.m. PST

Race Condition is a low-poly arcade style racing game with focus on speed and precise handling.

So, you've got a place in the world tour... Congratulations! But, you're a newcomer, and now you will need to prove yourself. This game lets you fight your way up the ranks as you compete in races across the globe. If you're too good, however, you will certainly trigger resistance from the more experienced drivers. Do you think you are up for the challenge?

Set in a modern low-poly arcade world, players of Race Condition find themselves as a rookie in a highly competitive open-wheel racing league. A rivalry with the suspiciously good opponent Mr. Dickmann takes them on a tour across the world which unfolds a series of intense races with their fair share of crashes, pit-stops and strategic decisions.

Taking its low-poly looks and simple controls from the arcade hits of the past, Race Condition adds in realistic car behavior to end up with an arcade racer that looks deceptively simple, but provide a real racing challenge throughout the simple David and Goliath story.

In true arcade fashion the races are only a few speedy minutes long and there is no car setup. Coupled with fast loading times players might just find themselves lost in a "just one more go" loop. Resistance is provided by the opponent AI which have been carefully crafted to play fair; whatever the AI manages, the player could do the same. Best chance of beating them might just be with a more clever pit-stop strategy.

Easy to pick up and learn. A bit harder to master. Race Condition offers an exciting challenge with fast gameplay and intelligent AI opponents.

Key Features:

  • Three Game Modes:
    • World Tour: Travel the world by beating rivals and unwinding the story of who will be the champion. Set on four continents, the 21 tracks (including 10 reverse) unlocks as the player progress through the tour.
    • Quick Race: Play the unlocked tracks to climb the online leaderboards, or maybe challenge friends to split-screen racing. Race Condition supports up to four simultaneous players in local split-screen mode.
    • Time Trial: Practice makes perfect. In this mode the player can enjoy the unlocked tracks without pit-stop concerns or AI getting in the way. Speed is crucial though as the player tries to advance on the global ranking.
  • Online Leaderboards: Compare your results with other drivers in the online leaderboards. Drive well and you might even beat the global track records!
  • Intelligent AI-Driven Opponents: The other cars present a fun challenge by reacting intelligently to the situations that can occur during a race. Can you outsmart them and win?
  • Split-screen Multiplayer: Play with friends in split screen mode. The game supports 2-4 simultaneous players.
  • Finely Tuned Game Physics: Entirely physics driven, the game offers a rewarding driving experience. Unlike many other racing games, the AI cars are also driven by the same physics model, so it's all fair play.
  • Great Soundtrack: Turn up the volume and enjoy the retro inspired soundtrack as you cruise along the various tracks.
  • Keyboard And Controller Support: Play with keyboard or controller, or any combination of those (in split screen mode).
  • The game offers 21 tracks in 11 destinations across the world. You will encounter various race conditions, such as sun, rain, fog, snow, day and night driving.

Race Condition is coming to PC (Steam) on March 1, 2022 for $12.99.
