WINGS Interactive Celebrates International Women's Day With Live-Streaming Event

by Rainier on March 8, 2022 @ 8:34 a.m. PST

Women-led game studios are set to #BreaktheBias this International Women’s Day with a special Women's Day Steam Event, running from March 7-11th 2022.

Featuring over 200 top selling, critically-acclaimed, and upcoming games made by women-led studios, the Women’s Day Sale introduces gamers to the diversity of talent behind some of the most creative, popular and unique video games on Steam.

Games from developers from all over the world will be featured during the Women’s Day Event, with game discounts on select titles plus game previews of soon-to-be released projects. There is also a full schedule of streaming broadcasts airing on Steam during the event, all of which can be found on the official event page starting March 7th at 10am PST.

“With only 21% of game developers identifying as women in 2020, many people aren't aware that the games they're playing are from women-led teams," explains Audrey Leprince, co-founder of WINGS Interactive. "While WINGS is working to fund more women and gender-diverse developers, this Women's Day Event is shining a spotlight on the diversity of talent behind popular and upcoming games on Steam.”

The Women's Day Event will include critical hits like GreedFall, Little Misfortune, Road 96, Tick Tock: A Tale for Two, Calico, Boyfriend Dungeon, highly anticipated upcoming games like The Wandering Village, Ova Magica, and Cat Cafe Manager, along with over 200 more games to be discovered during the March 7-11th, 2022 event.

The criteria for games participating in this event is that they are made by teams led by women and have a positive or higher review score on Steam. The team at WINGS hopes to renew the event every year, and include different criteria to showcase an even wider diversity of creators and games.
