'Stellaris: Console Edition' Fifth Expansion Pass Includes 3 DLC, Nemesis Expansion Next Week - Trailer

by Rainier on April 26, 2022 @ 8:39 a.m. PDT

Stellaris: Console Edition turns your eyes to the stars in a science fiction strategy game that will be about more than just building empires in the skies.

For millennia our race has developed, explored and battled for control of a planet. Now we turn our eyes beyond our own solar system, to other stars in our galaxy. New planets, new discoveries, maybe even new civilizations await us. And Paradox Development Studio, the masters of grand strategy, will be your guides on this new voyage.

With a dynamic decision system and a heavy emphasis on exploration and science teams, Stellaris gives you much more to research than bigger lasers or stronger hulls – though you’ll need those too. Space is very big, and your first step will be getting a grasp of just what is around you and how it can be best used for the benefit of your civilization.

Paradox Interactive announced the contents of the fifth Stellaris: Console Edition Expansion Pass with the first content arriving on May 3, 2022.

Next week, players can add the Nemesis expansion to Stellaris: Console Edition and begin ruling their empires through menace, subterfuge, and diplomacy through new espionage mechanics as well as the ability to become a terrifying crisis that threatens the very galaxy.

In the months to come, the Aquatics Species Pack will become available, followed by the Overlord expansion which will arrive on consoles some time following its highly anticipated PC release.

All three DLC will be available individually or discounted via the ‘Expansion Pass’ bundle, for Xbox and PlayStation.

Nemesis is an expansion to Stellaris in which the player determines the fate of a destabilizing galaxy. Nemesis gives you the most powerful tools ever available in Stellaris: adding espionage tools, a path to power as the Galactic Custodian to combat endgame crises - or the Menace option to BECOME the endgame crisis.

The Nemesis expansion includes:

  • Become the Crisis: You are the fire that spreads across the galaxy, threatening its very existence. As your empire becomes more and more menacing, you’ll unlock powerful bonuses to finish a hopeless galactic stalemate on your own terms. If the rest of the galaxy can’t stop you in time, you can unleash enough power to end all of existence!
  • Galactic Custodian: It’s up to you to campaign for the Galactic Community to declare you a Custodian, granting you emergency powers to combat the Crisis. Use them to bring the galaxy back from the edge of destruction and restore order. When the crisis is defeated you may choose to relinquish your powers...or keep them, and form a new Galactic Imperium.
  • Espionage: Knowledge is power; use new tools to spy on your enemies (or friends). Deploy Envoys to lead covert Operations and counterintelligence behind enemy borders. Lies and deceit will throw your enemies off your scent while you learn their deepest secrets. As your Infiltration Level grows you’ll unlock new operations, such as Sabotage Starbase, Acquire Assets or Steal Tech. Turn allies against each other through the use of smear campaigns and by instigating diplomatic incidents. Play your cards right, and they’ll be none the wiser: what they don’t know will hurt them.
  • New Ship Set: Nemesis includes new ships inspired by some of the most imposing empires in science fiction. Whether you’re taking control of the galaxy or wiping it out, you’ll look as powerful as you feel

Thousands of planets populate procedurally generated star systems giving you the largest possible theatre for performing the emergent stories that Paradox has become famous for. Customize your ships, encounter unique randomly generated races, and participate in advanced diplomacy that would make Picard look like an amateur.

And all in a beautiful and evocative star map unmatched by anything we’ve made before.

  • Behold the enormity of space with procedurally generated galaxies and an untold number of planets to explore.
  • Encounter a myriad of wild, quirky, and dangerous alien races who may prove to be crucial trade partners or conquering forces hellbent on enslaving your civilization.
  • Take on strategic space warfare and resource management to ensure the survival and advancement of your empire.
  • Explore scientific anomalies and uncover technological wonders throughout the galaxy to utilize them toward your own gains.
  • Govern your own fledgling empire and secure your power and agenda through manipulating internal policies, factions, traditions and more.

Stellaris is currently available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
