'Max Payne 3' Celebrate the 10th Anniversary With The Official Soundtrack: Anniversary Edition

by Rainier on May 13, 2022 @ 10:47 a.m. PDT

Max Payne 3 tells the story of a retired police detective embroiled in a world of corruption, turmoil and intense violence.

For Max Payne, the tragedies that took his loved ones years ago are wounds that refuse to heal.

No longer a cop, close to washed up and addicted to pain killers, Max takes a job in São Paulo, Brazil, protecting the family of wealthy real estate mogul Rodrigo Branco, in an effort to finally escape his troubled past. But as events spiral out of his control, Max Payne finds himself alone on the streets of an unfamiliar city, desperately searching for the truth and fighting for a way out.

Combining cutting edge shooting mechanics with a dark and twisted story, Max Payne 3 is a seamless, highly detailed, cinematic experience from Rockstar Games.

This complete edition of Max Payne 3 includes the complete original game and all previously released downloadable content including Deathmatch Made In Heaven, Painful Memories Pack, Hostage Negotiation Pack, Local Justice Pack, Silent Killer Loadout Pack, Cemetery Map, Special Edition Pack, Deadly Force Burst, Pill Bottle Item, and the Classic Max Payne 1 Character.

To mark the 10-year anniversary of Max Payne 3 on May 15th, Rockstar Games are thrilled to announce Max Payne 3 – The Official Soundtrack (Anniversary Edition), a new version of the iconic soundtrack coming later this year to digital streaming platforms and limited-edition vinyl.

Featuring the evocative music of L.A. noise band HEALTH, Max Payne 3 – The Official Soundtrack (Anniversary Edition) also debuts previously unreleased tracks from the game.

“When we began work on the Max Payne 3 score we could not have predicted the momentous effect it would have on the trajectory of our band and the music we make,” said HEALTH. “Now, 10 years on, we are still as proud as ever to be part of the story.”

Delivering a dark and driving industrial soundscape reflective of Max’s blurred and frayed mental state and the heavy atmosphere of the Max Payne series, HEALTH’s score for Max Payne 3 pushed their signature melancholy noise rock sound in new directions, with the track “TEARS” becoming a staple in the band’s captivating live shows.

Max Payne 3 is available for PS3, Xbox 360, PC (Steam) and via backward compatibility on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
