SunSoft Is Making A Comeback, Will Unveil Future Plans During Digital Showcase Next Week

SunSoft, developer and publisher of electronic games since 1978, announced that it will hold a virtual event to unveil its plans for upcoming titles to be published in 2022 and 2023.

“Although we have been quiet for some time, many things have been happening behind the scenes,” said Yuichi Ochi, General Manager of SunSoft. “We are very excited to be able to finally share our vision for the rebirth of SUNSOFT with fans old and new.”

The event will take place on the company’s YouTube channel on on August 18th at 1:00PM PDT. 

As one of the first publishers licensed to publish games for the Nintendo Entertainment System in North America, SunSoft created classic titles for both original properties and major licenses, such as Batman. Popular games included Spy HunterAero the Acro-batBlaster Master, and Uforia: The Saga.

"SunSoft is the video game division of Japanese electronics manufacturer SunCorporation, established in 1971. In October 1978, SunSoft began to develop video games in arcades with two titles, Block Challenger and Block Perfect. We had several arcade hits in the early 1980s such as Arabian, Ikki and Kangaroo.
