'The Elder Scrolls Online' Gets Firesong DLC Date, Prologue Quest And Heroes of High Isle In-game Event

by Rainier on Sept. 29, 2022 @ 3:39 p.m. PDT

The Elder Scrolls Online is the first Elder Scrolls game to allow gamers to explore the legendary Elder Scrolls world with others.

Explore a rich, living world with friends or embark upon a solo adventure. Enjoy complete control over how your character looks and plays, from the weapons you wield to the skills you learn – the choices you make will shape your destiny. Welcome to a world without limits.

Battle, craft, steal, siege, or explore, and combine different types of armor, weapons, and abilities to create your own style of play. The choice is yours to make in a persistent, ever-growing Elder Scrolls world.

Discover the secrets of Tamriel as you set off to regain your lost soul and save the world from Oblivion. Experience any story in any part of the world, in whichever order you choose – with others or alone.

Using ZeniMax Online’s Megaserver technology, players will join one connected world with a built in social network that lets them stay up-to-date with everything their friends are doing.

Megaserver technology avoids the hassle of shard selection and makes The Elder Scrolls Online one of the most socially enabled games ever created.  Whether playing alone, or with hundreds of friends, players can develop their own style of play as they embark upon an epic quest across Tamriel.

During its Legacy of the Bretons Autumn Event livestream, Bethesda revealed that The Elder Scrolls Online's Firesong DLC will be available for PC/Mac (Steam) on November 1 and for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S on November 15.

ZOS revealed the Firesong DLC will feature 15 hours of story content which will revolve around a new, unexplored zone, the mysterious island of Galen where players will come across new characters, monsters, and plenty of political turmoil. As this year’s story comes to an end, players will earn all-new collectibles and achievements – including one that challenges players to pet all the animals on the island - and collect unique item sets that can't be found anywhere else in Tamriel.

For players who are eager to start their adventure, the Firesong Prologue Quest is now available across all platforms for anyone who owns The Elder Scrolls Online, with no previous DLC or Chapter purchase required. In the Firesong Prologue, players will begin a tale that will bring this year’s Legacy of the Bretons saga to its exciting conclusion.

The Firesong Prologue is now live and available for anybody who owns The Elder Scrolls Online, with no previous DLC or Chapter purchase required. To continue your Legacy of the Bretons adventure and begin a tale that will bring this year-long saga to its exciting conclusion, pick up the free quest starter titled “Sojourn of the Druid King” from the in-game Crown Store.

In this new quest, you team up with Dhulef of the Mages Guild and Druid Laurel of the Stonelore in a race to uncover the secret of the legendary Druid King and his connection to the growing conflict among the druid circles of the Systres Archipelago. Complete the Firesong Prologue and you earn the Petal Presentation emote as an additional bonus reward!

What you uncover in the Firesong Prologue leads directly into the events of the upcoming Firesong DLC and helps inform and drives the larger ongoing Legacy of the Bretons storyline.

ZOS also revealed the secret bonus reward for The Heroes of High Isle in-game event. If the community achieves 100% of The Heroes of High Isle challenge, with progress tracked on the website, the Firesong DLC will be unlocked for free for all High Isle owners across all platforms.

Explore High Isle Together

The Heroes of High Isle in-game event kicks off this Thursday, September 29 at 10:00AM EDT, and runs until Tuesday, October 11 at 10:00AM EDT. During the event period, you can come together with your fellow players and work with them to unlock amazing rewards by earning the High Isle Pathfinder achievement.

To earn the Pathfinder achievement, gather an intrepid band of explorers (or go it solo) and explore High Isle by visiting all six of the unique striking locales in the zone. No, we won’t tell you where these specific locations are, but your Achievements menu might have hints! In addition, all those who have already earned the High Isle Pathfinder achievement prior to this event can still contribute to the meter’s progress. We’ll update the meter on September 29 to immediately include all users who already completed this achievement.

Every day, we’ll update the meter found on the Heroes of High Isle page with the community’s progress. The more explorers who complete the Achievement, the quicker the community meter will fill up, increasing the rewards. Once the meter reaches 100% or the event reaches its end, we’ll add the currently unlocked rewards to the Crown Store (in a single bundle) for ALL owners of the High Isle Chapter to claim for free!

Here's the rewards you can unlock at each stage:

  • 33%—Oak’s Promise markings
  • 66%—Plant Yourself emote
  • 100%—Ascendant Hoard Box
  • 100%—Appleback Salamander pet (ESO Plus members only)
  • 100%—The Elder Scrolls Online: Firesong DLC!

The Ascendant Hoard Box includes a host of reward containers within containers that grant you a heap of in-game items, including:

  • Undaunted Plunder and Undaunted Keys
  • Tel Var Stones
  • Outfit Change Tokens
  • Crafting writs
  • Riding Lessons
  • Transmute Crystals
  • High-level companion gear
    • Including legendary-quality companion jewelry
  • High Isle item sets
  • Unattuned Crafting Stations
  • An Ascendant Lord Statue

That’s a lot of great in-game goodies you and your fellow players can earn, just by exploring beautiful High Isle!

CELEBRATE THE SYSTRES

While you complete quests and explore High Isle, you can also earn bonus rewards from the zone itself. Pick up the Heroes of High Isle introductory quest titled "The Island Tour," from the in-game Crown Store or Impresario tent to begin.

During the event period, the first time you complete a daily quest in High Isle (or the Dreadsail Reef trial weekly quest instead) you receive a Society of the Steadfast's Largesse Coffer. This new reward box may contain some of the following items:

  • Guaranteed chance for one or more of following items:
    • Random crafting materials
    • High Isle treasure
    • Style item for High Isle motifs
    • High Isle overland set item
    • Companion gear
      • Ember or Isobel must be your active companion
  •  Chance for one of the following:
    • High Isle furnishings
    • High Isle furnishing recipe
    • High Isle Treasure Map or Survey Report
    • High Isle motif page
  • Small chance for a tradeable page of the new Oaken Order armor style

For each daily quest you complete after the first, you earn Society of the Steadfast's Munificence Coffers, which contain similar items but offers a smaller chance to contain the rarer rewards.

You can also acquire Society of the Steadfast's Munificence Coffers through the following methods:

  • Delve and World bosses
  • Dreadsail Reef non-final bosses
  • Dreadsail Reef final boss
  • Volcanic vents
  • Monsters
  • Opening treasure chests
  • Opening safeboxes
  • Crates, barrels, sacks, and more
  • Psijic portals
  • Thieves troves
  • Crafting resource nodes
  • Pickpocketing

But that’s not all! Both the High Isle daily quests and the weekly Dreadsail trial quest offer DOUBLE their regular non-event reward boxes. In addition, during the event period, the zone’s harvest node yields are increased, and world bosses, public dungeon bosses, trial bosses, and delve bosses throughout High Isle ALL drop additional rewards.
