Shinobi Rising is the first game in the Katana-Ra Universe, where feudal Japanese inspiration is fused with futuristic Cyberpunk. Shinobi Rising will be a 3d side scroller built in Unreal Engine 5 and will feature stealth and detective style gameplay. The entire game will play out in one single night of time, where the main character must solve a murder mystery and find the real culprit behind the assassination of the young heiress to the Kata Clan.
As you navigate your way through the streets Clan Kata’s village, the entire game takes place across one single night and you'll need to use all your cunning and skill to survive. Uncover clues and solve puzzles and inch closer to uncovering the truth behind the killing. But be warned, this is a village where not everyone is what they seem.

When designing the universe of Katana-Ra, W.R.K.S Games aimed to create a vibrant world with a complex network of conflicts. Heavily inspired by feudal-era Japanese history and lore, it combines futuristic technology and diverse cultural and environmental settings to give us a platform to build gaming experiences that appeal to everyone.
Society and politics in Katana-Ra is a complex tapestry of laws and rules, with an intricate structure of conflicts. Play the game, or don’t. Win or lose. Live or die. There is no complacency. No stopping.
From enhanced traditional weapons like swords and hooks to fully augmented humans with cybernetics—there are as many armaments as there is an imagination for in Katana-Ra. Conflict and war is ever-present. Motivations are as diverse as they are inscrutable.
Shinobi Rising is coming to PC (Steam) on February 14, 2023, followed by Nintendo Switch, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2023.
