'The Entropy Centre' Rolls Out Level Editor, Design Competition - Trailer

by Rainier on March 23, 2023 @ 3:54 p.m. PDT

The Entropy Centre is a mind-bending, time-manipulating stunner built around a unique puzzle mechanic that allows players to think in reverse and overcome seemingly impossible obstacles.

Players join the game’s protagonist, Aria, as she awakens inside the bowels of a colossal space station—The Entropy Centre—in near-orbit of Earth. Two immediate problems face her: Earth has been set ablaze from an extinction-level event, and The Entropy Centre itself appears abandoned and on the brink of imminent collapse.

With the aid of ASTRA—a talking gun capable of moving objects backwards in time—Aria can restore the facility’s collapsed bridges, reassemble destroyed pathways, and overcome ingeniously complex puzzles to progress to the core of The Entropy Centre in the hope of surviving this seemingly doomed space station and, somehow, finding a way home.

The truth behind The Entropy Centre’s imminent collapse, and the Earth’s demise, can be found at the heart of this sprawling facility. But will Aria accept the unfortunate truth that awaits her?

Today, during the Future Games Show, Playstack and Stubby Games announced the addition of a robust level editor in the upcoming free update for The Entropy Centre arriving on PC on March 30th. While the level editor will be available on PC only, console players will still get full access to all community levels, adding hours and hours of new playable content to their game.

Featuring deviously demanding puzzles and razor-sharp wit, The Entropy Centre has struck a chord with first-person puzzle fans. The entire project has been developed by a sole developer, Daniel Stubbington, who is now making his tools accessible to everyone who wants to design their own puzzles in the game.

In addition, Playstack announced an Entropy Centre level design competition. Budding level designers can join the Discord for more information.

Get acquainted with the game's unique mind-bending, time-manipulating take on puzzle mechanics and soak in the witty banter between protagonist Aria and her trusty talking entropy weapon, ASTRA.

The Entropy Centre is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam).
