'Vigor' Comes to Steam Early Access In May - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on April 17, 2024 @ 9:44 a.m. PDT

Vigor is a free-to-play, shoot 'n' loot game where you must build a shelter and survive in post-war Norway.

1991. The nuclear war is over. Central Europe
is devastated, Norway has become the last stand.
You start as a nameless outlander,
but who will you become?
No time for uncertainty.
Turn a shelter into your home.
Fight, run or hide.
Take risks, claim rewards.
Survive this cut-throat experience.

In a world devastated by the fallout of the last great war, Norway has become the last great bastion of humanity now known as Outlanders. You must survive as one of the only living remnants of a world in tatters — Fight, loot, maintain your shelter, and play smart to survive your new hostile landscape.

Vigor is an online, third-person, multiplayer, shoot-and-loot game with unpredictable challenges to overcome as you compete with fellow Outlanders for precious resources. Take on (or work with) other player, loot for resources, battle for airdrops, and escape to the safety of your Shelter, where you’ll build improvements and level up before stepping back into the battlefield.

After years of anticipation, and a plethora of requests, Bohemia Interactive is excited to let PC players worldwide discover the shattered remains of post-war Norway in Vigor.

The free-to-play looter shooter played by more than 20 million players on Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch, will be available in Steam Early Access starting in May.

This marks the first major release on a new platform since the release of the game on PS4 and PS5 in 2020 and a much-requested community feature, having been out on consoles for almost 5 years.

Early Access arrives with the special Vigor – Reinforcements Pack which will be priced at $19.99 and will allow players who purchase it to be able to play with each other on PC, while the game is still in Early Access.

The Reinforcements Pack contains an exclusive uniform and a unique title that you can wear as a badge of honor by being one of the very first to play Vigor on PC. The Pack also contains a set of weapons and consumables from all rarities that will help you kickstart your journey as you become the ultimate Outlander in perilous Norway.

Once the Early Access is over, all progress will be wiped for all players on PC. The only thing that will be bound to their account are the contents of the Vigor - Reinforcements Pack. The format is very similar to the one when Vigor was first released on Xbox Game Preview in 2018.

Seeing as Vigor has been out for almost 5 years, with a multitude of Battle Passes since, Bohemia Interactive decided to let players who buy the Vigor – Reinforcements Pack enjoy Early Access with Season 18 a.k.a. Vigor Chronicles: Isolation. This update introduced the much-awaited Smoke Grenade, the new Eikevjen Shootout map, melee improvements and the M14 assault rifle. Early Access Outlanders will also get a sneak peek into the Weapon Overhaul, a much-requested topic by the community. They will be the very first to test out the improved gunplay and will be able to provide the dev team with valuable feedback before the full release.

The current timeframe is to have Vigor in Early Access, with a full release scheduled for later in 2024.

Key Features:

  • SHOOT your way out of encounters for 8–12 players.
  • LOOT precious resources and valuable items.
  • BUILD your shelter and vital equipment.
  • BECOME the courageous Outlander in post-war Norway.

Currently available for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, Vigor is coming to Steam Early Access in May 2024.
