Players will use Warbeast cards to fight each other. The cards, each representing a different Warbeast, will be made into teams of 5. The teams and card decks will allow for huge customisation, with 75 287 520 Warbeast combinations possible from the start. It goes quite a lot deeper, though, with further mechanics. Use spells and items to influence what happens on the battlefield. Level up your creatures and give them new abilities mid-fight with level-up cards. Deploy Starship wants to create a game that will value both preparation and skill, aiming for a balance that will incentivise players to play skillfully, effectively and cunningly.
The game's story, which will be told with in-game events and a possible campaign added in the future, will feature the aforementioned Warbeasts from at least 10 planets, wars over resources and evil forces that want to conquer the universe. Some of Starship Warbeasts’ inspirations include various sci-fi series and franchises - plenty of adventures and cool characters inbound!
“I want Starship Warbeasts to have a feeling of high-action cartoons. Cool and fun. And even though it’s our debut project, I can already see that we’re going to make something great” - says Matthew Albright, the founder of Deploy Starship.
Deploy Starship also hopes to have a demo and run both public and private playtests, so there should be opportunities to try the game before it gets officially released.
Starship Warbeasts is coming to PC (Steam), Android and iOS in 2026.
