The mighty King of All Cosmos has accidentally destroyed the Earth and stars once again.
To help the Prince restore the starry sky, players must roll their Katamari across time itself, collecting objects through history as they visit the Jurassic Period, the Ice Age, historic Japan and more.
In Once Upon A Katamari, players will experience the series’ signature game play like never before, experiencing a journey across time featuring all-new stages, and with a new competitive multiplayer mode. The game’s memorable music returns with a new soundtrack, and game play enhancements include new customization options and fun tools such as a new magnet to pull in shiny nearby items. Players can choose to play as The Prince or 68 cousins and kin, all of whom can be customized with different colors and facial features. These customization options will be available in KatamariBall, a new four-player competitive mode where players attempt to roll the katamari as big as possible and exchange it for points within a limited time. KatamariBall will support both online multiplayer and offline play against CPU opponents.
As an added bonus, players who have save data from either Katamari Damacy ReRoll or We Love Katamari ReRoll+ Royal Reverie can unlock a playable Young King once the game launches.
Bandai Namco will reveal many more details about the whimsical universe and gameplay of Once Upon A Katamari between now and launch.
Once Upon A Katamari is coming to Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam) on October 24, 2025.
