'Teardown' Multiplayer Co-op Update Coming To PC In March, Consoles To Follow Later This Year - Trailer

by Rainier on Feb. 26, 2026 @ 6:00 a.m. PST

Teardown is a voxel-based destruction game that challenges players to think creatively and strategically to smash their way into buildings to pull off the perfect heist.

Teardown is a voxel based adventure that lets players live out their destructive fantasies with sledgehammers, vehicles, explosives, and more. As the struggling owner of a demolition company, what starts out as some harmless (well, mostly) jobs soon evolves into a more risky proposition. Take on heist jobs that require planning and problem solving. Blow up safes, steal cars, and ransack buildings to meet your goals. Be resourceful and inventive to puzzle your way through each level–there’s no one set solution!

Teardown features 100% fully destructible and interactive environments. Move, manipulate, or outright smash obstacles to create paths, find shortcuts, and finish each job. Teardown’s physics-based gameplay means strategy and creativity are required to avoid sticky situations. From traversing tropical islands to working around a raging tornado, Teardown has a wide variety of levels for players to explore and stretch the limits of their imagination.

In addition to the base campaign, Teardown has a robust modding community that encourages players to let their creativity run wild and make the game their own. Create unique characters and structures and obliterate them into nothingness within moments! Just out for a bit of stress relief? Teardown has a dedicated sandbox mode where players can smash and demolish to their heart's content.

Developer/publisher Tuxedo Labs announced that Teardown’s long-awaited online multiplayer update is launching for all players on Steam starting March 12, 2026.

This is the largest free update since Teardown’s launch, introducing the opportunity to heist together in the original base game’s campaign in co-op, go head-to-head in hundreds of dev- and community-made multiplayer game modes, and create a variety of maps, weapons, and more using Teardown’s robust collection of modding tools!

One of the community’s most highly requested features, the online multiplayer update will allow up to 12 players to experience the fully destructible world of Teardown together! Play multiplayer classics like Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Capture the Flag, tackle the base game’s campaign in co-op, get creative (or destructive) together in Sandbox Mode, and explore the ever-growing list of multiplayer-specific community mods. With the entire base game’s map collection, two brand-new, dual-sided arenas, and an expansive library of community-made maps on the other end of your sledgehammer, the possibilities are nearly limitless!

This update will also introduce multiplayer functionality to the Teardown API, enabling creators to build new cooperative and competitive game modes, maps, tools, and more to further expand the Teardown experience via the in-game mod library. Over the course of multiple pre-launch playtests, the modding community has already launched hundreds of multiplayer-specific mods, including competitive game modes like The Floor Is Lava, Battle Royale, and Prop Hunt.

The March 12th online multiplayer update on Steam is just the beginning! The multiplayer update is expected to arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S later this year, and the team also plans to release a new high-octane multiplayer racing experience for Teardown in the future.

Key Features:

  • First-person, single player experience set in 100% destructible voxel environments
