Built from FlatOut 4: Total Insanity, the FlatOut 4 VR pulls players out of the stands and drops them straight into the driver’s seat. Every blindside hit, every desperate near miss, every pileup of twisted steel now plays out at windshield level. It is the full destructive heart of FlatOut 4 brought directly into the headset.
FlatOut 4 VR includes the game’s classic racing events, arena battles, stunt mode, and multiplayer, preserving the brutal arcade identity that made the original stand out while reworking the experience around the intensity and immersiveness of VR. The result is louder, tighter, and far more personal. When a race turns into a wreck, you aren’t a bystander. You are sitting inside it.
Bringing the game into VR required more than simply adding headset support. FlatOut 4 VR features full 6DOF VR implementation, cockpit-first play, VR-specific UI and control work, and DLSS support to help deliver a sharper, smoother image in the headset. Because the original game was never built around close-up first-person driving, the team also updated vehicle interiors where needed to support cockpit play and keep the experience functional and intense at full speed.
In FlatOut 4 VR, you have a single objective: destroy everything in your path to make sure you cross the finish line first, and offers a nitro-glycerine-charged show that you will never forget.
Whether you’re driving a buggy, monster truck or ice truck, your vehicle will be your ultimate weapon against your opponents.
Flat2VR Studios announced that FlatOut 4 VR will launch in Early Access on Steam on April 23, 2026, marking the first title to launch under Flat2VR Spark, a new creator-led label focused on turning standout VR adaptation talent into official, fully licensed releases.
The project was developed in collaboration with Mutar, also known as NoMoreFlat, whose work helped make full VR support possible inside the game’s custom engine. His involvement makes FlatOut 4 VR the first public example of what Flat2VR Spark is designed to do: pair expert external creators with the official support needed to turn ambitious VR conversions into commercial releases.
“In terms of a pure VR adaptation, the major work is already complete and the core engine (pun intended) has come along nicely. We want to tweak the game based on the community’s feedback and to ensure it works with a wide range of set ups and configurations. The game also has multiplayer up to 8 players and we’ll want feedback specifically on how this feature works and how the users like it. ”
“We want to add more cars, tracks and features! We think with the community’s help we can focus on what the community would like and create the ultimate experience. ”
