Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions are developing Bloodborne, the acclaimed PlayStation horror-action game, as an R-rated animated feature with creator Seán “Jacksepticeye” McLoughlin joining as a producer  along with PlayStation Productions and Lyrical Animation.

McLoughlin has long championed Bloodborne’s gothic world and punishing gameplay to his community of over 48 million fans, and now brings that passion directly into the storytelling process.

Plot details are still being kept under wraps, but the project continues Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions’ expansion into game-based storytelling following Uncharted, Twisted Metal, HBO’s The Last of Us, and the upcoming Helldivers film from Justin Lin starring Jason Momoa.
