A remake in the truest sense, Warcraft III: Reforged sees the original Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and its award-winning expansion, The Frozen Throne, rebuilt from the ground up, with a thorough visual overhaul, a suite of contemporary social and matchmaking features via Blizzard Battle.net, and a pledge of support for its thriving community of creators—starting with an upgraded World Editor.
The founding of Orgrimmar. The fall of Lordaeron. The reign of the Burning Legion. The rise of the Lich King. Veterans and newcomers alike will experience these pivotal events in Azeroth’s history like never before in Warcraft III: Reforged, from the points of view of four distinct factions: the mighty Orcs, the noble Humans, the ancient Night Elves, and the insidious Undead Scourge.
For Warcraft III: Reforged, every character, structure, and environment has been recreated to emphasize the depth, dimension, and personality of this rough-hewn world. The Warcraft III saga, which spans more than 60 campaign missions, enjoys an epic retelling in Reforged, with over four hours of updated in-game cutscenes and rerecorded voice-overs that breathe new life into the earliest renditions of key characters like Sylvanas Windrunner and Arthas Menethil.
The death of King Terenas Menethil II at the hands of his son, Arthas, and the subsequent destruction of the great city of Lordareon are moments forever etched into the annals of Azeroth’s history. It was a devastating series of events that scarred the land as Arthas and his Scourge forces marched north toward the lands of Quel’Thalas. But Arthas’ destructive campaign that followed is the story many already know.
Warcraft III: Reforged Forsaken Kingdom is a new campaign, the first in over 23 years for Warcraft III, that tells the story of Lordaeron and its people who were raised as Scourge during its downfall and who wrestled with Arthas’ control to regain their free will.
In their reawakening, they fought to reclaim their home, under the charge of powerful heroes such as Sylvanas Windrunner, as they faced a dark and uncertain future. Abandoning the surface of their once beautiful city to its destruction, the living dead took refuge in the network of catacombs beneath transforming it into the Undercity, a capital of undeath besieged by enemies both old and new.
Theirs is the story that informs what it means to be Forsaken.
- OVER 30 HOURS OF NEW STORY TO EXPERIENCE– Forsaken Kingdom’s new campaign is told over a prologue and three chapters. Players will experience the moments of Lordaeron’s fall to the Scourge in the prologue. In the chapters that follow, they will work to establish a foothold beneath Lordaeron, the Undercity, and begin work to gain strength as they face enemies both familiar and new in the Scarlet Crusade and the forces of the Scourge.
- PLAY AS A NEW HERO OF THE LIGHT – A new neutral hero unit joins the fray, the Forsaken Paladin. Once a proud guardian of Lordaeron, these heroes have not forgotten their oaths to their city, or their people, even if the world has forgotten them as they walk in undeath. This hero unit will be available to all Warcraft III players, regardless of which version they own.
- 3.0 INTRODUCES DEFINITIVE EDITION GRAPHICS – Warcraft III: Reforged receives a new Definitive Edition (DE) graphics update that increases the fidelity of the land, structures and character units while respecting the top-down isometric view that has been a mainstay for Warcraft III for more than 24 years. These graphical presentations will be swappable between DE and the original graphics, so players can enjoy the version of Warcraft III they prefer.
- BUILD LUSH MAPS WITH AN UPDATED WORLD EDITOR – Map editing continues to be a beloved feature for Warcraft III players as the World Editor gives them to power to build and share their creations, whether for competitive player-versus-player environments, or unique game mode experiences. As part of the 3.0 update, the World Editor receives quality of life changes giving players more control over the land to include lighting effects as they bring their visions to life.
