Redmond Carolipio: I'm old enough to remember when the OG Dragon's Dogma caught a few people off guard with its quality about a decade ago. It feels like it's been called "underrated" so much that it's probably "properly rated" at this point. I want to see how this upcoming chapter adapts in a post-Elden Ring world with its unique system of "pawns" and multifaceted combat. People have wanted a sequel for an eternity, and now they get it.
Cody Medellin: The original Dragon's Dogma was an excellent title that riffed on the Monster Hunter formula with a single-player focus. The fact that we're getting a sequel is exciting enough, so even if it featured nothing mechanically new, it would still be cheered by fans. It's a common feeling for almost all of the big sequels this year, since most have been dormant for a long while.
Andreas Salmen: Dragon's Dogma is the best RPG I have yet to finish for time reasons. I'm absolutely in love with its gameplay; it's a fun mix of big and spectacular fight scenes reminiscent of an action fighter embedded in a complex fantasy setting full of lore and the usual RPG tropes. It channels the very best Shadow of the Colossus moments when climbing and being thrown off. We've been waiting a long time for this sequel. If nothing else, I'm excited to see Capcom finally commit to the franchise.
