Batman: Arkham Asylum is a 3rd-person action game powered by the Unreal Engine 3, that exposes players to a unique, dark and atmospheric adventure that takes them to the depths of Arkham Asylum – Gotham's psychiatric hospital for the criminally insane. In July Eidos will reveal the date and content for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC demos.
In Batman: Arkham Asylum, developed by Rocksteady Studios, the player assumes the role of Batman as he delivers The Joker to Arkham Asylum. There, the imprisoned super-villains have set a trap and an immersive combat gaming experience unfolds.

According to the last issue of Game Informer, Eidos is working on a new Batman game that's being developed by Rocksteady Studios, known for Urban Chaos: Riot Response, whose website has a
countdown clock, presumably to the official announcement. Powered by the Unreal Engine 3, Batman: Arkham Asylum is a 3rd-person action game with a dark and gritty setting reminiscent of Bioshock. Sporting a story co-written by the producer of TV's Batman: The Animated Series, Paul Dini, the game features Joker and "an army" of other supervillains, and is currently scheduled for 2009.
