At a Vivendi press event last week we learned that both F.E.A.R. next-gen titles will each have an exclusive bonus level and bonus weapon. The story of the two bonus levels ties together to help explain the backstory of F.E.A.R. In the X360 level you play as Holliday and the weapon is the dual machine guns, while the PS3 extra content is still kept secret but our guess is that you play as that other guy who is big in the FEAR backstory, Holliday's partner. Whether there will be additional content remains to be seen, we'll have more details next month when we get to go hands on with the PS3 version.

We already carried the rumor
back in February, but the latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine is sporting a front cover and feature article about Monolith's horror/shooter F.E.A.R. coming to Xbox 360. OXM only gave a sneak peek of its front page, confirming our earlier suspicions, but no details from the actual article, or release date have been reprinted yet. An official announcement should be coming soon, and F.E.A.R. on the X360 will probably be playable at E3 so we'll bring you the latest during our week-long live coverage.

According to the rumor section in the latest issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM) X360 owners could still see F.E.A.R. on Microsoft's nextgen console in 2006. Not really that much of a stretch as F.E.A.R developers Monolith have already made Condemned for the Xbox 360, which used the same engine, so technologically, it should be feasible. If it is indeed scheduled for this year, there should be an official announcement shortly.
